I only wanted the day off. Looks like i am getting life off
I could never sit in a Jury. I would never be interested in what's going on and my mind would start wandering away in other directions before nodding off. Guilty just to get an early train home
Good Afternoon,
Thank you for your recent request to be excused from Jury Service.
Having given careful consideration to the circumstances, I have decided that you may be permanently excused from Jury Service and you should not receive any further requests to attend Jury Service from Edinburgh

Pah, I just chucked the letter in the bin (20 years ago now) and haven't heard anything since.
They didn't send it recorded post.

I did it and it made me seriously doubt the wisdom of being judged by your peers. I hope I never have to go before a jury!

Done it twice now. First was an enormous waste of time. Spent a week sitting about, got selected, then it got thrown out of court or something. Got selected again a couple of years ago and spent a week sitting on a case about a common assault in a bar between a bunch of pissheads.

I did think about that but unsure about how tracked works. I blame the wife for sticking me on the electoral register.

I've done it, it was actually quite interesting seeing how a person's inability to be objective could completely change someone else's life.
I probably wouldn't want to do it again, but I'm kinda glad I did it.

I'm wondering if the sins of the father* are taken into account, as after 53 years I still ain't had the call.

Funnily enough I start 2 weeks Jury Service on Monday. One of the school Dads did it last year and said he didn't get selected at all in the 2 weeks, just got a text every morning saying don't come in. I bet I'm not that jammy
I don't want something boring, but equally nothing horrible either.
Hope I'm objective, unless it's a bike thief then I'm sending the fucker down whatever!

My employer only allows for two weeks and I think the government allowance is less than generous. I looked it up when I was self employed and hoped I'd never get the letter.
A warm feeling of civic duty doesn't pay the bills.
