Been thinking of one of these for a while now. Quick PM to @wull who has some experience with the same thing and I've finally stumped up:

Normally I'd just go to someone knows about suspension, MCT usually, but that's a two hour drive away and there are three bikes in the garage that could do with setting up so it's worth a punt.

No worries dude, great tool which allows you to tackle these jobs yourself, makes it a one man job, or is that one them job, not entirely sure but I’m guessing that’s what Sam Smith would say.


There’s absolutely no need to spend all that money when you can do it yourself, get stuck in about the suspension and have a fettle.

Sorry to anyone wanting to buy from that seller, I'm afraid I just bought the last one. I was happy enough doing this with a tape measure but two of my helpers have gone to uni and the other one has no patience.

Could somebody post up a rough guide on how to use this tool and what the tool can do? I need to set and tune sag on all of my bikes and getting enough pairs of hands in the same place to do this manually is a virtual impossibility. If the tool genuinely does make setting sag a one person job I'd be very interested.

One last thing - are the remote unit and/or a smartphone strictly necessary or just a 'nice to have'?

From what I can see you use the remote or the app to see the value while sat on the bike. I don't know if the unit doing the measuring stores the value so you can look at it after you get off the bike.

Is setting pre load really that difficult, you can do it with the bike on a paddock stand, just lift the front wheel to the same as the rear with a piece of wood under the tyre.

You can measure the height quite easily, you need to make something like one of those height measuring things they used to measure your height at the Army Recruiting Office (or similar experiences)

Or you can just get the wife to measure it, or a friend, assuming you have either of these.

But if you have a Suzuki GSXS 750 don't bother, 10mm of pre load doesn't make any noticeable difference.

Yeah, if I had a friend I wouldn't be buying this.

I'm hoping the v4 slacker is a good listener too, it's quite a lot of money if all it can do is help me adjust my suspension
