I hereby declare Spring!

Post by G.P »

This is the first winter that I haven't done any commuting on the bike. usually, I ride through winter but I put the Triumph in the garage in November and have left her there (bar a fortnightly start up and ride around the block).

Took her out today and it seemed like everyone had the same idea. On a brief 40 mile bimble, I saw loads of bikes and convertible cars.
Anyway, great to be back in the Saddle. Commuting over to south Wales will recommence and weekend tomfoolery will also ensue.
Here's to a happy motorcycling 2023

Apologies for the photo, the Tiger is an ugly thing to start with, then I put Bagster tank cover, seat bag and industrial Madstad screen on it. Only its mother could love it as they say!

You guys have changed!! I'm sure spring used to be denoted by the number of women in t-shirts

However - I like the Tiger! Just wish I could get at the Monster to take her to be registered as I can't ski, so a spring bike ride could be a good option! :D :D :D

Tis very mild for sure, but I wouldn't bet against a few more cold snaps.

Cast not a clout 'til May be out and all those horsefeathers.

I would have gone out on my bike this weekend, had I not had to stay in while a chippy replaced all my internal doors :(

Aye, first time in a few weeks I've worn sandals. Been a funny few weeks and felt a bit sorry for the tourists. Back to normal now :)

It's been the same around here too - roofs down, bikes out, exotics / classics all weekend :) The roads might still be salty but they're dry & there's grip,

I did feel for the chap on the RC30 we saw coming the other way when we'd passed a stretch of thick mud 1/4 mile before though...

It's certainly been mild enough to tempt me into working outdoors, but one look at the salty crust on the roads kyboshed any idea I may have had about taking the bike out.

It was like the Grand National on the bridleways around here - every horse in the South East was out!

It was like the TdF here on the roads. Everyone with 2 wheels was out....riding 2 abreast, in long peletons. :(

I was out on my road bike today, first time this year that the 'Summer bike' has been out.I was surprised there weren't more motorbikes out on the quiet lanes around here.I supose that they were all at the local 'hotspots'...

Ever since the bikes came through the area for the London Olympics, cycle groups for miles around and beyond seems to have headed here on every sunny Sunday. Ride London kept shutting the place down each year too but this year they're going to bring Essex to a halt instead. Hurrah.

Was hoping to get out today, but my plans were scuppered.

Spring is certainly round the corner, but the roads are still stained with salt and I'm sure another cold snap is just around the corner.
