That's almost certainly been done by using different triangles/dogbone. Originals are readily available. Could possibly be done by using shorter shock, but unlikely.v8-powered wrote: ↑Fri Feb 17, 2023 12:09 pmFound it! Aaahh, yes - forgot that was a trick with them. I may have a look at it but by sounds of it needs a brake rebuild, clutch slave and by looks of it 2 new exhaust cans.mangocrazy wrote: ↑Fri Feb 17, 2023 12:31 pmThat's almost certainly been done by using different triangles/dogbone. Must admit more I think about it, the more it's not for me. Have a house to decorate and can't be arsed repairing a bike!Supermofo wrote: ↑Fri Feb 17, 2023 1:23 pmYou're not selling it to mev8-powered wrote: ↑Fri Feb 17, 2023 1:00 pmAaahh, yes - forgot that was a trick with them. There are probably better ones about for less money. I'll keep my eyes open on the Falco forums I'm on and see what comes up, if you like?

That would be good thanks. Having owned a couple of RSVs I'm quite fond....mangocrazy wrote: ↑Fri Feb 17, 2023 2:23 pm There are probably better ones about for less money. I'll keep my eyes open on the Falco forums I'm on and see what comes up, if you like?

Re: What bike/scoot for about 2k?
Will do. Can you send me a link to the one you looked at? I've changed just about every part of my front brake and clutch systems, so might have spares...
I've just had a quick shufty at ebay and the cheapest Falco on there is £2695, so maybe I was a bit harsh about values. Then again, how many bikes actually sell for the sticker price?

If you have a bike fully loaded for touring be ready for the bump half way through the tunnel where the 2 sides met ....... i am always ready for it now as first time my bike almost fell over off the sidestandLe_Fromage_Grande wrote: ↑Fri Feb 17, 2023 11:38 am
Probably, I think if I were to go abroad I'd use the Channel Tunnel now, my experiences of ferries weren't great

Only done the chunnel once and that was last summer, didn't notice any bumps, was surprised at just how smooth it was!Bigyin wrote: ↑Fri Feb 17, 2023 7:25 pmIf you have a bike fully loaded for touring be ready for the bump half way through the tunnel where the 2 sides met ....... i am always ready for it now as first time my bike almost fell over off the sidestandLe_Fromage_Grande wrote: ↑Fri Feb 17, 2023 11:38 am

I usually use the ferry, cos Barnsley is four hours from Dover and the hour on the boat is a nice rest, I used the tunnel last time because it's cheap as chips if you use Clubcard points and I'm tight.

Re: What bike/scoot for about 2k?
I havent used a ferry to get to France since the Chunnel opened. Every time i get on a ferry its a shitty choppy puke inducing crossing ...Hull to Rotterdam, Stranraer to Larne, Dover to Calais, Liverpool to Isle of Man ....every single one of themKungFooBob wrote: ↑Fri Feb 17, 2023 7:29 pm

The biggest time i noticed the bump was on the crossing en route to eventually get to Norway but the bikes were loaded to the absolute maximum for almost 3 weeks away complete with food and all camping stuff. Other times its barely noticeable but those times the bikes and luggage were lighter

Never noticed a bump either. (If it's where the tunnellers met, it won't be in the middle. We dug more of it than the French Amazingly, when they did join up the offset was a mere 14.3in...but I think they smoothed out the track. )KungFooBob wrote: ↑Fri Feb 17, 2023 7:29 pmOnly done the chunnel once and that was last summer, didn't notice any bumps, was surprised at just how smooth it was!Bigyin wrote: ↑Fri Feb 17, 2023 7:25 pmIf you have a bike fully loaded for touring be ready for the bump half way through the tunnel where the 2 sides met ....... i am always ready for it now as first time my bike almost fell over off the sidestandLe_Fromage_Grande wrote: ↑Fri Feb 17, 2023 11:38 am

How does one use Clubcard points for a Chunnel crossing? I'm intrigued...KungFooBob wrote: ↑Fri Feb 17, 2023 7:29 pm I used the tunnel last time because it's cheap as chips if you use Clubcard points and I'm tight.

Every £5 of clubcard points can be exchanged for £15 worth of Chunnel vouchers.

My idea of fully loaded for touring is a spare pair of pants and a credit card.Bigyin wrote: ↑Fri Feb 17, 2023 7:25 pmIf you have a bike fully loaded for touring be ready for the bump half way through the tunnel where the 2 sides met ....... i am always ready for it now as first time my bike almost fell over off the sidestandLe_Fromage_Grande wrote: ↑Fri Feb 17, 2023 11:38 am

Re: What bike/scoot for about 2k?
It has two (I think) places mid crossing where they can "change tubes". It means they can switch off bits of tunnel for maintenance access etc. Maybe said bump was going through the points, which would also explain why only some people experience it.Count Steer wrote: ↑Fri Feb 17, 2023 7:53 pmNever noticed a bump either.
