So, watch winders? There's some serious £££ one's, but as I've pee'd all my cash away on the watch, haven't got £££, so anyone got a recommendation for a good value winder?
Do you nee a watch winder? Sure I'd read they wasn't necessary and in some cases even disapproved of?

I like the look of it so an advertising algorithm has worked but jeez, I can buy a bigger boat for that money!

I wouldn’t put a watch on a winder and leave it there for a long time, no point. But they are handy if you don’t wear a watch for a weekend or a few days but want to keep it wound up.

If I wasn’t going to wear it for more than a week then I’d just leave it. You could maybe put it on the winder every few months - some people recommend doing that to keep everything lubed and moving, some don’t.

I had a problem with an Omega left for a year or so and it wouldn’t start. It went off for fixing and they blamed insufficient lubrication.

Another issue I had was when I was traveling a lot I kept changing time zones several times a week in some cases - in the end I cross threaded the crown and knackered it changing it constantly, so I don’t like doing that either. So if I wear a watch regularly but might not have it on for a few days then I put it on the winder to keep it wound.

Others are in the safe and have sat there for a couple of years, so I’m not really one way or the other about winders.

It’s like these people that don’t ride their bikes but start them up for five minutes every year.
I think the jury is still out on that one as well.

Can’t remember, always good to see a real life pic though. The official PR pics are obviously very well staged so they never really show it in it’s true light.

The new Rolex Subs and OPs are starting to appear on peoples wrists.
There is a fair bit of debate about whether the new 41mm size and shape is an improvement, at the moment it's 50/50, I guess people don't like change.

The hype is worse than ever, new week old Subs are appearing on the grey market at 3x the RRP.
Some of the authorised dealers are obviously shifting these out of the back door via 'preferred customers' and onto the second hand market.

All part of the game I suppose in the art/antiques/etc field, the price to buy has little to do with the cost to make.

I knew a bloke called Maurice and he pronounced it 'Mawreece' with a bit of a twang like he was foreign, but I always called him Morris knowing that it really wound him up - every time I did he he'd howl "It's Mawreece!".
