There's one here, it's not an exception, the rest are priced the same...

We paid £3800 for our, we have 11,500 miles on it.... I'd say we'd get £4500-5000 for it. Not that i'm allowed to sell it of course. But really, i don't think bikes can really make that much. Sure we've not lost money on it. But even if we sold for £5000, you'd argue by the time we've owned, serviced, etc the bike for the last 4 years we've just about broken even. Which, lets be honest, what's the point.
Even if it'd gone up by £1000 profit... well, you can't exactly live off £1000 in 4 years.

Some odd choices in that list. Firestorms were ok but that's about it, average ones are £1500. Mint very low mileage, speculative dealers are asking silly money but whether they get it or not?

TLR? Sure they were pretty much universally panned when new as being too heavy/sedate. I see dealers are asking high values for them but not sure if they are selling.

Fazer thou? A massively capable bike but the vast majority have been ridden into the floor and they aren't exactly aspirational.

999, they've missed the boat there as prices have been heading north for a good few years now.

RSV, almost the same as the above albeit at lower values.

However, I reckon Potter has it about right. How long is petrol going to be readily/cheaply available. We'll be fine short term but 20 years? Who knows? And whilst I could have a 999 in my living room I'd definitely not want a bloody Firestorm, Fazer thou or TLR!

They're already mixing ethanol with petrol, it's only a matter time before they come up with a synthetic petrol that will work in any engine and doesn't melt older rubbers and seals.

It'll still kill polar bears so you'll be taxed to oblivion for the privilege, but I can see ice vehicles still being used in 20 years.

It's veering off-topic, but I think that reports of the demise of ICE vehicles are premature. The government have shot themselves in the foot by mandating that ICE vehicles cannot be sold in the UK after 2030; the charging infrastructure looks like it will be inadequate for demand and no thought has been given to the millions of drivers who do not enjoy the luxury of off-street parking and the ability to charge at home. The quantum rise in energy prices also calls into question whether EVs will be affordable to run.

The local bus company are learning this the hard way, they were practically gifted a load of new electric and hydrogen powered buses, but they rushed them into service without the proper infrastructure and the other things are lying down left right and centre.

The early Hinckley Triumphs are going up - but slowly.
I paid 2.5 for my Mk1 Speedy - now they are 3500 plus ( I probably wish I had paid a little more for a '96)
Clive Woods has a stunning example for under 5K
The Daytona IIIs go for 4.5k or above
