Clarkson's Farm, Season 2
Re: Clarkson's Farm, Season 2
Me and my girlfriend were talking about his motivation. He obviously doesn't need to "do" anything, and if I was him I'd be living in a nice farm house in Provence with some animals, a couple of sporty cars and some motorbikes.
I think we decided that if he gives up making TV he'll quickly drink himself to death, he certainly looks like he's heading that way.
I don't think Amazon will cancel him, he's worth too much to them.

Re: Clarkson's Farm, Season 2
I did notice they are always careful to only show the barns, out buildings & office side of the back yard & not the huge fuck off house right behind the bloke with the camera... In fact I don't think they have shown the house once during both seasons.ninja wrote: ↑Mon Feb 13, 2023 9:31 am Me and my girlfriend were talking about his motivation. That's not meant as a dig, however more of a pointer that it's dangerous to assume something is good/correct based on the people we surround ourselves with. After all, we look for people with similar characteristics, etc, so the chances of them liking the same things as us is higher.
See this link https://tv.parrotanalytics.com/US/clark ... rime-video It has ok viewing figures, but nothing outstanding.

With people like that you tend to find that money isn’t the motivator - it’s work and the product they produce.ninja wrote: ↑Mon Feb 13, 2023 9:31 am Me and my girlfriend were talking about his motivation. I’ve got a couple of customers that are multi millionaires - pushing 70 and still working 14 hour days running their companies.
They seem to be wired slightly differently.

I'm not suggesting it's wrong but I wouldn't trust a stats provider that doesn't understand double negatives.westers151 wrote: ↑Mon Feb 13, 2023 7:22 pmDo you know all 300 odd million people in the US?ZRX61 wrote: ↑Mon Feb 13, 2023 5:30 pmReally? Given the time frame I suspect that is only about series 1.Demand has decreased by -68.1%

Re: Clarkson's Farm, Season 2
Don't forget that the show was cancelled after the 1st series. That may have been a ploy to drum up publicity for it, or a ploy to see just how much people wanted to see it again, or both. You wouldn't do that to a series that was compulsive viewing for a huge portion of the US audience, that would be dumb.Mussels wrote: ↑Mon Feb 13, 2023 7:59 pmI'm not suggesting it's wrong but I wouldn't trust a stats provider that doesn't understand double negatives.westers151 wrote: ↑Mon Feb 13, 2023 7:22 pmDo you know all 300 odd million people in the US?

Absolutely! An amazing life doing top gear and whatever the new series is called. IIRC he used to be a really heavy smoker, but quite a while back, Looks like he's fallen to the weight gain curse of the ex smoker!

I think, like me, and maybe you, he just loves living his life. We all have to die of something. I think he's a legend and is quite inspiring in his ways, even if he is a posh mofo...

Inspiring yes. I've always wanted to lamp a minion for failing in their work. Back to the good old days when we could hit the poor and not worry about it.

Re: Clarkson's Farm, Season 2
I don’t think it was cancelled as such, it was meant as a one off bit of fun but it’s popularity caught Amazon by surprise. It was then too late to film another season that year (harvest seasons are awkward like that) but they immediately commissioned another two seasons.westers151 wrote: ↑Mon Feb 13, 2023 8:21 pm

Making the hot sauce/salsa was pretty damn funny. As soon as he said "Carolina Reapers" I just knew it was going to end in tears

Re: Clarkson's Farm, Season 2
and in related news, I've just "done a Jeremy" by inadvertently dipping a chicken wing in ghost pepper hot sauce instead of Thai sweet chili sauce.
Bugger.

Re: Clarkson's Farm, Season 2
It's basically a fingers up show to the nanny state rules of modern Britain and very popular it is.
