The modern shaped Z900 fits me better than the RS, if I bought an RS it would be purely for the looks, I think it's a worse motorcycle than any of the GSX-S, Z900, MT09 modern bikes.

And yes the 650 looks better, but it's a twin, I don't like 4 stroke twins, they sound like Superdreams.

NAh, i doubt it... it'll be equally as good/bad as any of them.

The suspension will be Japanese tuned, the emissions/ECU will be OK at most but not all rpm, ergonomics will be generic..

It'll simply come down to 'want'

and it appears your want is lower than you first thought.

Indeed, though the looks of the Z900RS have never quite worked for me, but if Kawasaki painted one bright blue I'd probably buy one, I've had a lot of blue bikes, even the KTM I had was blue and white.

Bizarrely, last night old Wayne M Gardner posts of pictures of his Moriwaki race bike started appearing on my Friendface feed.

Then minutes later Cheesy started posting about painting a bike Blue and Yellow, coincidence?

In this case yes, I don't follow Wayne Gardner, I liked the bike but not him, he came across as a bit of a gob shite in the 80s, and he rode Hondas, I had Yamahas and Suzukis in the 80s, even now I'd find it hard to buy a Honda, even though the few I've owned have been good bikes (two of them were blue).

In reality, he's probably a nice bloke, I always thought Steve Parrish was smug, and it turns out he's a nice bloke who always says hello when we bump into each other, I didn't like Freddie Spencer because he rode Hondas, he's a really nice bloke in real life, in fact the only ex famous racer I've met that I didn't like was Neil Hodgson, he's a gobby twonk.

LOL. I agree about Gardner being a nob. But I worked with NH for a few years and he's a very nice lad :)

He probably is, it was at the NEC a couple of years ago, I was chatting to Niall Mackenzie and Neil was over the other side of the stand, had a bit of an audience and was being like he is on the telly, one to one he's probably a lot calmer.

Even Foggy is a nice guy now. He had to hate people to beat them.

Had a look at some this morning, the proportions of the bodywork are wrong, the tank is too wide and the tail piece too short, but I did see a CB1000R, which, apart from being covered in garish bolt on tat, looked nice, it's also the same price as a similar age and mileage Z900RS

The tank on the RS is massive shame really as spoils the proportions

CB1000Rs always seem way more premium in the flesh than they appear in pics to me.

Smoothest and up there in terms of nicest bikes i've tried... I was blown away when i had one as a demo bike.. Only thing that held me back was the IL4 engine, which was silky smooth, but not my preference. I tried to buy one 30 mins into the demo ride but the deal didn't work out.

I was surprised the CB was the same money as the Z, it's a much higher quality bike, the paint is thicker, the fasteners are all good quality, just everything about it is nicer, it shows that Honda can still make a really good bike when they want to, I just looked at the price of a new one, it's a lot of bike for £11,600.

Pipe aside,it's quite a nice looking bike. I'd need a ride to be convinced though,Hondas tend to be a bit clinical for my old tastes.

The standard exhaust on the CB is hideous, the older pointy CB1000R has a better looking exhaust, of course if Honda were to make this
