Yes I like that, usually caveats about mudguards apply.

I'd take that over an F800GS every day of the week. The back end looks a tad 'squat' somehow but it's a

That's really nice, I'd happily tool around on it. The seat's horrible, though. It looks like a squishmallow.

I really like NineTs
I would have one in a shot - it I was small enough.
I'm not sure that does anything better that BMW have achieved - and the seat is gopping

BMW flat twins don't really move me, even though I've seen the movie.

but

that rear shock is going to get sandblasted (literally) to oblivion in no time if the bike is used in the desert. A shock sock/condom would be an improvement, but what's really needed is some proper mud/sandguarding in that area. Also I'm not sure about the wisdom of doubling the suspension travel at the front but leaving the rear standard.

Mudguards and wanky compass aside, that looks well. I'd rather take an original r80g/s every time though.

Yup, that's why I thought the back end was a bit 'squat'. I do like the idea of trying to get a 'modern flat twin' bike closer to the old Dakar bikes and less hulking that the 1200+ jobs though.

There's a Youtube channel called The Doghouse and he's converting an old 1100 GS into more of an off road bike. So far he's got rid of the telelever front end and fitted one from an africa twin, which included making up a trellis frame to support the new headstock. He's an ex blacksmith and has very limited tools (mainly a grinder, hammer, and welder), and the stuff he turns out with it is impressive. I've met the bloke - nice chap.

It's certainly one of the better BMW flat twins I've seen, and I like that he's gone down the 'simplify and add lightness' route, but that shock and the mismatched F/R suspension does bother me. Now I've seen how low it looks at the back I can't unsee it. I'd be interested to see more of his work, though.

When I had panniers fitted to my 1150GS* in about 2004, the chap that fitted them offered me one of the early ones that he'd used leading tours around NZ, for €1000. I do sometimes wish I'd taken him up on it.

* American panniers, fitted in Germany, by a Kiwi. :D

I'm confused by Spanish custom bikes.
Spanish rules mean that for it to get an ITV (MOT) the bike has to be standard, so can only guess it's for a customer outside of Spain.
Looks alreet tho'
