One thing stood out: In the piles of concrete rubble there wasn't any rebar visible. Not all the piles, but a good number of them.

Did I hear somewhere that a 2000 year old castle thing was destroyed in the quake? That would put any comments about recent shoddy building techniques into a different context.

Yes, I think it's safe to say earthquakes like that are rare there.Screwdriver wrote: ↑Tue Feb 07, 2023 12:55 pm Did I hear somewhere that a 2000 year old castle thing was destroyed in the quake? That would put any comments about recent shoddy building techniques into a different context.

Re: In todays news...
Just when you think you've seen the worst that reality TV stars can promote in the name of self-enrichment, along comes something that makes you wonder....
"To promote the product - called Lemme Purr - she posted an Instagram video of herself, surrounded by cats, as she eats one of the gummies.
"Vaginal health is such an important part of a woman's overall wellbeing (and not talked about enough) which is why we are so excited to launch this," the caption reads.
One of the main claims Kourtney makes is that the vitamin sweets can alter the taste of the vagina.
"Give your vagina the sweet treat it deserves (and turn it into a sweet treat)," Kourtney continues."

If she's talking distasteful cunts, maybe she should take a look in the mirror.

Speaking of BBC news...watching another hatchet job on the energy companies and to emphasise some point or other about the energy market they introduced 'a former BP executive' who proceeds to labour some point about the hydrocarbon world. Fair enough thinks I, he's been in the game. Wife's voice behind me pipes up, 'What?!! He was in HR!'

2. I don't care about politics
3. I do care about the forum
4. Do you?
Re: In todays news...
1. Ok
2. Well don't worry then, be calm, be happy.
3. We all care, what's not to care about?
4. Do I what?
Deep breaths, maybe it's been a hard day, but it's all good, chill out, compose and placate.

Re: In todays news...
That's 4 year old news. He's not been a Labour MP since 2017 when he was kicked out of the Labour party and sat as an Independent until 2019, when he stepped down as an MP. His big mistake was picking the wrong party. He'd have fitted right in among all the Tories...JackyJoll wrote: ↑Thu Feb 09, 2023 1:13 pmweeksy wrote: ↑Wed Feb 08, 2023 6:27 pmFFS at least make an effort.
