Shock as unknown blues singer beats Beyonce, Adele, Taylor Swift, to win Song of the Year Grammy
The singer in question is Bonnie Rait, who was first nominated for a Grammy in 1980, first won a Grammy in 1990 and has won 15 Grammys in total. Just because the "journalist" hasn't heard of her doesn't mean she's unknown ffs

Ebay rant 1.
Some folk especially @Slenver helped me to merge some pics to create a special prezzy for Mrs Yorick.
I found someone on ebay to do exactly what I wanted.
Got a price which was, ermm, acceptable, but she's worth it.
When I pressed PayNow it jumped a bit. Sod it, I need it, so paid.
I sent a polite message querying it and said to send the difference to a pet charity.
They replied that the extra was VAT they added after. Thieving scum

Ebay rant 2. Due to new postage rules they brought in, some sellers couldn't ship here. But always found one who could. Made 3 purchases Sunday but got a blank page today saying that Ebay banned sales to various outlying bits of España, including these ones. Bugger.
I'll try Ebay España next time to try to bypass this.

If that's the one that uses Yello as the soundtrack it's made doubly annoying by using Yello (I'm a bit of a fan) as the soundtrack.

They (Yello) are still going, latest album was only last year, and is pretty good, (if you like Yello).Count Steer wrote: ↑Wed Feb 08, 2023 7:53 amIf that's the one that uses Yello as the soundtrack it's made doubly annoying by using Yello (I'm a bit of a fan) as the soundtrack.

Toilet Roll dispensers.
I work in a lot of different places and drink in a lot of different pubs etc and i have never found one that actually successfully gives you a decent amount of bog roll.
One today at a school (almost brand new build with new dispensers) gave me maybe 1-2 small sheets before i had to put my hand up and try and wiggle some more out, only to get maybe 2 or 3 more tiny sheets. The roll is jammed in so tight it doesn't roll!
What was wrong with the old school standard bog roll holders on a roller. I suppose it's so you use less paper, but making it almost impossible to get any out at all is not really a solution, though i suppose this kind of thinking in 2023 is just normal, find a solution to a problem that doesn't exist so that we can save the world from imploding for an extra 3 seconds.
Oh and while i'm here and hangry, laptop repairs. It seems now most brands are sticking in their components with glue rather than using screws, especially screens that i can normally replace within 10 mins, not now, the glue comes off and wont go back on, chuck it in the bin.
So on one side we have bog roll holders that are trying to save the world, then laptops that are just fit for landfill. My irony meter is off the scale!

Always use the disabled shitter if available. At least they have a sink and you can clean your arse with soap and water.

Re: Insignificant/ Significant things that BYP or just wind you up a little
Something I've repeatedly said to wifey over the last six months and she's completely ignored. I've said it in front of other people, I've said it in a few times in meetings with the person she's engaged to help with her Spanish residency and both wifey and female helper have ignored the advice. Now several hundred Euros later, it's cropped up in a conversation with friends earlier and apparent it's the first time I've said it. Now it's dawned on her that she's wasted a lot of time and money when I could have fixed the problem months ago for free.
It's to do with a notarised document she needs.

When I put an advert on for something for sale, then the freeloaders turn up with their offers trying to get it for almost nothing. Then there's the rest of them, asking questions which would be answered if you read the advert.
