These ones do, the first I was given back in August last year were all over the place when it came to dosage. Some had a mild effect, some did nothing at all & some knocked me on my ass for 24 hours.

I've got loads of variations here and, honestly, I can't (couldn't) feel any benefit. I was pumped full of them in rehab but the only thing that actually helped was added Ibuprofen - unfortunately the French medics hate Ibuprofen and you can only take it regularly for 10 days - need to remember to ask brits coming out to bring me some of the stuff from the supermarkets over there!! LOL

Working in the chalet today and I realise I need white Spirit. Best option is a 20 min + drive to Bozel. I look at the clock, it's 10am. I have a delivery coming today but they said "probably 15hr, we will ring you when we're 30 mins away". I head off down to Bozel, picking up a hitchhiker on the way. I drive past the decor shop as it's cold out so I was happy to take the hitchhiker 1/2 mile further and drop then at their destination. Just as the hitchhiker jumps out, my phone starts ringing. Well being as it's this thread you know what happened next. " Hi Jody, we'll be there in 10 minutes " FFS. SO I head back up the hill, great the delivery get it all put away and then back down to Bozel.

It's lucky I have bugger all to do most days !

People overvaluing their bikes at trade-in.

Thinking of getting rid of my Trumpet as hardly doing any miles on it and just getting a cheap commuter for the occasional station run. Post on a forum that may be interested in a trade, fella contacts me with a suitable bike that's 3 years older and half the value of mine (and I'm being very realistic on the price of mine, probably one of cheapest in the country). Goes through the motions of upselling his bike making big deal of brake and clutch protectors (why on a commuter?), Aliexpress levers and assorted other tat that I'd remove. Evens goes to lengths of hiring a trailer before even agreeing a deal.
Only when I push on money does he bid me a low ball deal (as in few hundred my way) and gets upset when I tell him to jog on! Tells me there's loads of choice out there, but fails to see his is probably a grand overvalued and the market is full of them for far less!

Bellend, I'll keep it sat in the garage!

Just as I start the car up to go visit my Mum on Saturday morning, (icy), 'someone'* decides to lower the passenger side window on the car... when it's still iced up.


Queue poxy window motor burning out and leaving the damn glass all the way 'down'.

Local VW garage couldn't book it in until Feb, and weren't even prepared to take the car in and ensure it was parked inside until it could be worked on (ok- I can understand that).

So - booked the car in - but obviously they can't provide a courtesy car until the 20th.... GAH!


Ended up rushing to halfords for a full-size cover for the Eos to keep it dry until Feb, and hiring "something" for the weekend to visit Mum (came away with bonus stuff for the JAPton, so that was good), but still pissed off about the window....

Pulled the cover off today just to check it, and the bloody window is working fine!

Question now is: do i pay for the replacement motor anyway, or punt the potential issue down the road for another year...

Do you mean to stop it getting too hot. Or to prevent it moving when it's too cold?

To prevent it trying to move a frozen window it should trip. Not sure if it's too hot but it is overloaded. Seems a bit slow to reset though.

Yes, i should have tried it a few days ago.

It's a bit odd that it opened and then refused to close. Normally when they're iced up they stick in the upper seal and refuse to open rather than refuse to close. They can jam in the bottom seal though.

I'd give the window a good clean inc the seals if you can (if you can get a thin card with a wipe of silicone lube on it between the glass and the seal it might remove some grot) but the usual design means that they almost always stick on the way down rather than up. Perhaps yours was on the way down then tripped. Depending on the type of trip, turning the ignition off and back on might help.

However, if it's working OK I'd just clean everything and worry about it next winter.

FFS how do they know if they need to see me without seeing me / my condition that required the referral and the review will only take up to 2 months for them to decide, and I bet they don't take that process into account for the 8 month average wait time
