I used to work of the manufacturers - they sold about 6 packets a year
Odd, because I bought more than that. The chocolate dipped ones were good too, though even rarer.

I exaggerated ...
7 packets

( actually - it was one short run every month or so)

How about Costco actually, that's not a cheap place really at all is it? You get some deals, but most other food is a bit more expensive, but the quality is supposed to be better.

Costco was good before supermarkets expanded and online shopping took off, now I haven't bothered with it for years as I found it expensive. Not as bad as Bookers, most of their stuff could easily be found cheaper in supermarkets even back when Costco seemed great.

just got a costco card, theres one at lakeside. lakeside is distilled essex, its pretty grim. shudder, but the diesel is 20p a litre cheaper than usual. when the bus can take 160quid to fill up, its worth the trip. just need to avoid going into costco and buying 1000 rolls of bog roll or something.

I must say that the saving in fuel pays for the membership alone.

Yesterday I think I spent my record small amount in the store. I thought whilst I'm here I'll get some croissants, I was very restrained and kept away from the cheese aisle.

There's a Costco 2 mins from my house, its the closest supermarket to me (only just, its on the same road as Tesco).

I have thought about getting membership a few times but never pulled the trigger.

Oh I must add that I bought their chocolate muffins and blueberry muffins too, I'm going to have one in a moment. Nothing like getting my lips on a moist muffin .

Do you qualify?

I've only got a membership because the wife has a bluelight card.

I've always wondered why they'd be so selective, as business is making money, right? So why would they not want just anyone's money?

They only want people who have money and aren't looking for a five fingered discount. I'm surprised nobody has had them for sexual discrimination yet as women are less likely to fit the criteria.

I thought the original deal with the manufacturers was that cash and carry places should only be supplying retailers ie corner shops etc so that they weren't undercutting their other customers ie supermarkets. If Joe Public could get everything from a wholesale place there's a few big companies that would be a bit annoyed. The C&C outfits then stretched the rules as far as they could. (Wife got a card because she was running some sort of evening study group to help people towards their professional qualifications and they laid on cheese and wine at meetings).

Dunno about the other locations, but the Sheffield one has a staff member on the exit you have to give your receipt to so they can check the number of items in your trolly matches.

I'd forgotten that but I do now remember it happening at Lakeside.

I've got a Macro card and once in a while we'd pop in - the kids liked going. Honestly I'd say supermarkets have been significantly cheaper for a good few years now.

It was a Macro card that she had. My impression was it wasn't particularly cheap unless you bought carefully, but you could get a kg of cheap cheese easier than buying it in a supermarket. It was quite interesting to go there and see who was buying what though.

Well I was cheap on Friday when I went, didn't spend much at all. I've just done one of their chocolate muffins, mmmm delishus.

Chartered Engineer int I?

I can sign people's passport photos too!

Come to think of it, I could probably get a Halfrauds trade card. "Mechanical Engineer" counts and my payslips all have the name of an automotive OEM on... :hmmm: That's literally only just occurred to me
