Lemons 24 Hour Race
Currently live on Eurosport, anyone else watching it?
I don't like F1 racing, but for some reason I enjoy the Le Man's 24 hour.
Toyota currently leading, rain forecast

Re: Lemons 24 Hour Race
I've been to Le Mans many times, IMHO has been the best car race series for many years.
Must be odd for the drivers this year as they all say that during the race they can still absorb the atmosphere of the fans - the noise, the funfair lights, the smell of BBQ's etc...

Re: Lemons 24 Hour Race
I went to the bike race in the early 00's and camped in one of the fields next to the circuit.
It was one long totally mental party, had no idea who was winning.
I think we watched a support race... Hornets in the pissing rain, which was hilarious and we watched the start and the end, most of the time was spent pissed up with a load of French goths.

Yep, we used to go to the car 24hrs for what was pretty much a 5 day party getting smashed with loads of Danes and Dutch, they are massively in to endurance racing.KungFooBob wrote: ↑Sun Sep 20, 2020 11:36 am I went to the bike race in the early 00's and camped in one of the fields next to the circuit.

People bring converted double decker buses, marquees with full-on beer pumps, bird scarers being let off all night - great fun!

Re: Lemons 24 Hour Race
I love it, for me it's something I have to watch every year (not all 24 hours though at my age)
It's also on my bucket list to go watch live one year, probably a road/ camping trip with my lad.
Btw, it amazes me that after 24 hrs and hundreds of miles that there's only 1 minute between the first two with 10 mins to go!!
And the LMP2's was even closer!!

Re: Lemons 24 Hour Race
If you are of a 'certain age' as I am now, I'd recommend the Le Mans Classic as opposed to the race thats on today. The 24hrs has got a bit 'chavvy' but I'd still go anyway!Nordboy wrote: ↑Sun Sep 20, 2020 1:18 pm I love it, for me it's something I have to watch every year (not all 24 hours though at my age)

Re: Lemons 24 Hour Race
A dozen of us went several years ago. Brilliant atmosphere but knackering as expected. But...we (4 or 5) were robbed in the middle of the night, one of the blokes had his wallet taken from under his pillow. Yes, he was sleeping on it at the time. Very clever and professional, and took the shine off the trip.

There should be a law that forbids red paint on Astons....

Those who can set that knowledge into motion in the physical world are rarer still.
The few who possess real knowledge and can set it into motion of their own hands are the rarest of all.

I actually thought it looked pretty nice? Makes a change from the usual old BRG....
