need some advice

Post by dex-mt07 »

looking for some advice guys, going to try make this as short as possible...
was out for a spin earlier, riding along on the inside lane of a dual lane road,40 zone. lights ahead were red, i creep along the inside of the cars in front to make my way the front of the queue, lights go green in the meantime so i get back in lane, safely i would say and rode along for a coupe hundred yards when i felt something knock on my right, looked back and this guy had nudged me/my bike with his car.he may have been honking the horn and the driver and passenger were shouting at me, got a bit of a fright with all going on so sped up a bit to get away and then slowed down ,between looking behind and in my mirror im 90% sure i got his correct reg.
i then pulled in ahead to a garage thinking this guy would pull in but being honest i didnt want confrontation.
just thinking back over the last few hours I'm pretty annoyed as this c**t could have proper hurt me.
so I'm wondering is this worth reporting to the cops? any advice or questions welcome, thanks.

Report it, they'll probably do nothing, but you might prevent the driver from doing the same to someone else

Of course report that you think the driver deliberately hit you with his car.

Don’t fret about lack of consequences.

Report it. You may save someone else from the same dreadful experience. A police bollocking still has some weight in some corners of leafy suburbia.

Report it

You may not even be the first! It could be that your report is the tipping point for the police where they say "this fella needs a talking to".

Report it.

With a bit of luck plod will check and find the owner isn't insured and the car isn't taxed. Actually, you can check those for yourself online.

Find them.

Kill them.

It's the only way to be sure.

I'd report it,but I doubt anything will come from it.

It happened me a few years ago and I followed the driver to discuss matters. He drove into a police station and his mates all closed ranks.

I did get to say my piece, but when he gets away with things, then he'll do it again.

Going up the inside of traffic in the inside lane is a bit dubious too...

IF he hit you, then its 'failing ro stop after an accident'
IF he hit you, and didnt turn you into pavement jam, then be thankful.
IF you go to the police, you had better be 100% sure of the reg no.

OP: "inside lane of a dual lane road"

Otherwise, yes, not a great idea. But still no excuse for someone to hit you.

dead right ;)

OP: " i creep along the inside of the cars in front"

That left me lying on the footpath once when I did it to a taxi in Regent St and the fare decided to stop waiting for the queue to clear.

thanks for all the replies, good feedback. i doubled checked the reg off dvla site so i know i got that right.
yes i agree on not going up the inside being a great idea, just think nudging someone with your car is a cunt move, wonder has he done this before?? probably suffers extreme road rage. a good bollicking and a warning from a copper might give him a fright
