Anyway, a plan has emerged and if everything goes to plan, you can expect a new bike thread soon, maybe even this weekend!

I recommend you don't get too excited...
Panigale?
Or X-Adv street-fighter ?
I have wondered about getting the X-ADV back on the road, as if i can get it running its still got an MOT etc. But then remembered it had 2 previous theft attempts before they finally got it. Not sure ill bother after recalling that...

It's a Hardly Go-son, in it?
No. It was a real consideration as it made a lot of sense with ergonomics etc, but not ready for another yet. Honestly, its not worth getting excited about and probably not even worthy of a new bike thread. Nothing final yet anyway, but expecting some calls today...

Has this aspect been addressed ? I'd want that sorting before anything else at all.

Looking at what they did to get the bike last time, there's not much more apart from 24h armed guards on guard towers with searchlights that TP could do. They took out a fence panel, did the security lights and used an angle grinder iirc!
Doubt is not a pleasant condition.
But certainty is an absurd one.

But without being the propeht of doom, i doubt they did that just because it's an X-Adv... but it just happend to be one of those...

What do you mean?
Well have you stopped them getting to the bikes.
In as much as I can, and it will have stronger lock and chain (Almax), but bear in mind last time they knocked out 3 security lights, removed the locks from my gates and bumped 2 cars out of the way and used an angle grinder to get the locks off. When people are that determined...
The X-Adv appears to be one of the most nicked bikes out there. I suspect it was exactly because it was one that they targeted it - at home and work..but I guess we'll never know for sure.

It certainly is. They got Macchets as well. This is why i'm hoping if they keyless system is that easy to bypass, then undoing it will be equally as easy?

He could move to somewhere nicer than Tilbury, I was going to say move, but then I realised there are many places worse than Tilbury in south Essex.

It's an expensive leap and i don't see it happening... but i really don't wanna see the bloke losing another bike in the same way.

Neither do I, on both counts, I don't know a sensible answer, maybe have a bike that's nice to ride but undesirable to thieves and a lot of security.
