I'd have been more than up for it, but my weekends are both days away all day and in Wales generally.

The Pound has said they'll fast-track me, as I've already been in. They seemed quite helpful to victims of crime whereas people collecting after getting their car seized for no insurance etc can just wait their turn. So ideally i need to get there first and get it brought outside the gate for the recovery van, because if i have to queue it can easily be a couple of hours processing time during the week! The trouble is I can only call out the recovery agent when I'm ready and can't book a time as they will probably be on a job. So either way I have a lot of waiting around to do. :(

If I get it home I'll probably be able to suss out how to undo whatever they did to bypass the keyless system and once it runs itll be worth more. But, when you only have a garden to work in, and its this kind of temperature, its not exactly inspiring.

I'm trying to beg some storage space at the moment and if I can get it put away, i'll ignore it until the weather breaks then get into it and see whats what. If i can't get anywhere, then it could go under a cover in the garden, but I've already got the MT round there!

I do have a bit of a plan to get rid of the Mt and Sh though and if that goes ahead, it wont be in the way in the garden until spring. Or I might just leave it in the pound a I don't need the fecking headache to be honest...

Thanks Mate, I do appreciate the offer, I really do, but I need it close by if I'm to work on it. My wife is nervous about having it back here as she thinks they'll come back for it, so I'm fighting that as well! I'll get something sorted, i'm sure...

Taipan, store it at Weeksy's for two weeks. It will look brand new by the time you come to collect it and all the issues will have been sorted. He can't help himself!!

Do what I did. Stick it on Ebay for what you think is a fair price to get rid of it. My Sprint RS was stolen Got it back a year later after recovery. I stuck it on Ebay and it sold in 5 minutes of posting it to a fellow to wanted to fix it up for his dad. I made it clear that it was a stolen recovered bike, engine turned over and that was it. The rest of it needed love and lots of work! I got what I thought was fair and he got a cheap bike to fix.

I've got people who want to buy it already! I'll look at it to see if I can get it running which will help, but I'll probably just ebay it as stolen recovered unrecorded salvage? Got a guy who knows the pound etc and has a winch and skids etc and will get it home for £150 on Wednesday. So total recovery and storage costs should be £370 and it should certainly return more than that!

Got to the pound early and paid the bill. I was asked where is my recovery operator and I explained I thought i'd get here first and settle up so he could get on his way asap. Doesn't work like that though. Recovery driver has to come in and show his license and insurance and sign a release form. I ring him and he's just round the corner, but he has his license but no insurance docs with him as you don't need to carry them today with ANPR etc.

Nice Lady says I need to see a certificate of insurance, even though she can see on the database the vehicle is insured and the name on the policy matches his license! :wtf:  He cant remember his direct line log in so this looks like its going nowhere. FInally he finds an email with his policy documents attached. Yay, paperwork done.

Now I'm told I cant help him load, only he can go in and even though we all know the steering is locked on, he has to load it on his own as they aren't allowed to help. So I go out and he goes through only to be stopped and told he cant load without steel toe-capped boots which he doesn't have, so he is kicked back out of the compound! FFS! He manages to scrounge a loan of a pair of another recovery driver and in he goes and I'm dismissed and come home, which is where I am now, just hoping he turns up with it. He hasn't rung so fingers crossed he's on his way...

Vehicle pound? It's more like a vehicle hostage centre! They don't like people getting their stuff back do they? :(

I'll take the blame for it as I should have known there would be hoops to jump though and Govt places love a bit of PPE. I'm sure it's on the website and i should have known better to not check. Anyway, lesson learnt. Oh and I wouldn't have got fast tracked without the paperwork they sent me even though it doesn't say you need to bring it, but I thought I may as well. Which was just as well as they were taking 2 hours to process. which isn't surprising as there are only 5 desks in there and only 2 of them staffed, despite the Lady saying they are busy all day every day.

There's a largish corporation dump/recycling centre not far from here that someone doing some work for us took the waste to. 'You can't come in without steelies, hard hat, wally vest'.

'Oh, we can sell you the hat and the wally vest'.
