I think it's a really shit idea. It's been imposed from above and there has been no consultation with the riders (as far as I know). It's a major change to the rider's and team's schedule and it looks as if there is no extra payment involved. So extra risk, major disruption and no extra cash. Would you agree to that?

It's a crap idea by Dorna in a panic about viewing figures. I already struggle to watch all the races on a Sunday so adding a Saturday race isn't a major draw to me. It's rubbish for the riders as they have lots of extra risk so no extra reward.

The only positive I see is that the riders won't have to conserve tyres, which has become a bit dull in recent years. But that's about it for me.

Dorna trying the same trick as they did in WSBK.

The sprint race in WSBK has provided top entertainment,so it's hard to imagine it won't be the same in Motogp.

From a spectator perspective I'm looking forward to it. I just hope it doesn't bring with it a feast of crashing or injuries.

Tell you what... that has just made me think actually.

WSBK how many crashes in the premier class in a given race/weekend..... very very few.

MotoGP i'd guess on average 3-5 per race ?

I was dubious when it was introduced to F1, I reckoned they wouldn't go balls out in a sprint race for position / a smattering of points and risk the car and have to miss the main race on the Sunday.

But colour me wrong, I figure it works well enough, there's some decent racing and I get to watch another race of a weekend.

If only they'd introduce the BTCC reverse grid to more racing series it'd be glorious.

They did a reverse grid in WSB but didn't change things much.

They don't need to change things much, they offer a greater chance for those that usually finish in the lower half of the top ten, but more importantly, at least in my opinion, is that they offer the spectator more racing, more over takes, more close calls (especially as it's always the last race of the weekend and risks can be taken).

Folk oft criticise F1 as being boring, just a line of cars that rarely overtake, but of late I'd level the same criticism at MotoGP, it needs a shake up to get the viewing and attendance figures up (IMHO)

100% MotoGP has went boring as hell, the stat with regards to last lap overtaking in the last season sums it up. WSBK and BSB is far more exciting to watch.

They'll complain a lot but unless they all stick together it'll happen.

One of the smaller teams will twist their riders arm to ride as its points or a big team will agree to pay bonus and then the rest will have to race.

Can't imagine Ducati allowing Bagnaia to sit it out if Marquez is riding. Too much at stake and too many riders for the available seats.

The only good thing it brought to WSBK was that the riders all said they didnt need to worry about tyres so the usual mid race laps where everyone is trying to keep some pace for the end is gone and its full on from start to finish.

Because the Bautista/Ducati combination was easier on the tyres the other riders had to take it into consideration in the full length races but in the sprint race he only won a couple all season with Toprak taking the bulk of the wins as he could ride balls out all the way through before the tyre went off.

Might be different in MotoGP, we will see
