I got my 690 Duke for £6300 as it was the last of the model before the new version.
My GSXS was only 8k new as it was a demo bike they registered and never used cos of covid.

Re: Best place online for selling a bike
I've spotted quite a few decent deals online. I need to pluck up the desire to go and see them and hope that I can speak to someone who actually wants to make a sale.
On the eBay side of it, are the fees not quite high? I've not used eBay for over 10 years.

Selling a half decent bike on ebay, you need a classified ad, which is circa £30 as Weeksy says.
If you post it as a proper auction, they take a percentage of the final selling price, as well as all the listing fees.

Yup It was a steal at that price. It was only a grand more than the new budget Hornet! I had a look the other day and all the 2nd hand 2020 GSXS' were more than I paid new, nice.KungFooBob wrote: ↑Mon Jan 09, 2023 8:49 pmYour GSXS was the fucking bargain of the century, jammy bastard.Supermofo wrote: ↑Mon Jan 09, 2023 8:42 pm Depends on the bike, new models/new registrations but between now and March there should be some deals to be had.

And plenty of scammers who turn up to test ride a bike...
...you can guess the rest.
Someone just got jailed for 20-odd ride away thefts.

Well, I think I've cooled off enough to give Paddock a second chance. Found a 2022 MT09SP on their website at £10k brand new. There's no change to the 2023 model, so this is good value. Will try for another demo this weekend. I'll ask them for a part-ex value on the Trident.

eBay - good coverage, can do description and lots of pics, relatively pricey
Bike Trader - as above but doesn't seem to be as widely viewed
Gumtree - does anybody still use this?
Facebook Marketplace - popular as it's free, inhabited by fuckwits though
MCN classifieds - haven't looked at MCN for years
If I was selling I'd probably start on FBM and move to eBay if it didn't sell.

Re: Best place online for selling a bike
The last 2 bikes I sold I took them to my local independent servicing chap and let him sell them for a %. I was happy as he sold them quickly and probably got more than I would have. I didn't have to deal with any tyre kickers, thieves or dreamers. Given that he paid me with a big fat envelope of cash both times he didn't faff around with bank transfers either.
He did particularly OK with one of them because the buyer used him for servicing the bike after that. Win-win.
