Best place online for selling a bike
Starting to think about selling the Trident. Are BikeTrader/MCN my only options? Might just try an ad once to see how it goes, otherwise it will get traded.

I still think Ebay gets the best coverage, there's Gumtree too.

Re: Best place online for selling a bike
Of the 3 I've sold privately, two sold via ebay (as classifed ads) and the other via gumtree.
The last one, a 790 duke, I didn't get any numpties on ebay - the first guy who messaged about it bought it. Whereas the first one (a 2008 Fireblade), I had tonnes of stupid messages which was fun...

eBay and Gumtree for me, I sold all my bikes via them both over the years.

Re: Best place online for selling a bike
All of the above and also trade in on the next bike. That last option will mean you'll get a lower price for yours but personally I can't be arsed with selling mine private and sometimes trade ins aren't that bad. I've had a couple where I've got a really good price usually cos the salesman wanted to sell me a bike and hit target.
Re: Best place online for selling a bike
Well regarding the trade in, I spoke to 2 dealers last year and they offered the absolute minimum. I'm not sure I can be bothered with private selling either, but it's the only way I can make a bit of profit.

Also see if there is a Facebook page for your model that does buy & Sell
They usually have people lurking who are looking to buy

Private, I'd go ebay classified, not auction.
Trading in, for new bike, you may get an half decent deal. It may depend on what your buying.
Incidentally, what you buying.?

You'll get a better price in spring. I always bought new in Jan/Feb then sold the old one in spring

Do a deal to buy a bike now. Then pick it up in spring when you've sold yours.
Dealers are desperate to sell at this time of year.

I've had good luck with FB Marketplace.
It's free, but you'll get a million "Is this still available" messages before you get someone serious.

Re: Best place online for selling a bike
There seem to be loads of deals around on these at the moment. I had a look at & bounce around on this today. Less than 200 miles & £8.2 - I might yet go back and have another look...

Re: Best place online for selling a bike
Depends on the bike, new models/new registrations but between now and March there should be some deals to be had.
I got my 690 Duke for £6300 as it was the last of the model before the new version.
My GSXS was only 8k new as it was a demo bike they registered and never used cos of covid.
