47 DIdnt put the steering lock on, I would be braking with my front brake so left arm waiving and it appears Im not too good at CPR

Past my Bike test in 77 so I suppose not too bad

Only one I got wrong was the specific signage for tram drivers which I have never heard of or seen before so guessed. I was pissed off I got one wrong till I saw it was that one.

Ironically the only time I have had any experience of trams while riding bikes was on my DAS instructor assessment when the examiner took me into an area on the outskirts of Manchester with fucking tram lines everywhere on a torrential raining day as part of my “riding in built up/town” area

If I remember correctly, it was (in no particular order):

Tram lines are slippery
Let the bus pull out
A lorry turning left will swing out to the right to make sure the back axle doesn't mount the pavement
Bus stop - The paint will be slippery, so try and avoid.

I remember the last one, Trams have diamond shaped signs.

I only know that as Nottingham has trams.

49 here. Licence/ engine power was my let down.

Used the same logic as someone else for the tram signs, excluding three left the one.
Even bland can be a type of character :wave:

Arm signals were for car drivers, the only difference is the left signal.

Yeah that ^^^.

Honestly, as someone who rides a bike without indicators quite often, I'm 50/50 on whether there's any point arm signalling! Even indicators seem to make little difference to what other drivers do, although it could be argued arm signals are actually more obvious.

Have any of you tried the hazard perception clips? I can't get better than 9/15 - if I try really hard I get 2!! As has been said before, I think it teaches you NOT to respond till it's too late.....

I'd love to see an example of how to get full marks.

I did hazard perception to get my licence, so obviously passed. Dunno if I still would.

To a certain extent its like GCSE maths. They teach you how to pass the test, not how to solve problems with maths.

Yep, I thought exactly the same, the left arm would make it safer for sure. But, nothing surprises me any more. It also may indicate that your slowing and stopping on the left. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I got the answer to the same Q wrong - except that now I know what I'm supposed to do I will carry on doing the same as I've always done and use my left arm for the signal, because it makes absolute sense to do so. Dolloping along on a closed throttle (especially on a big V-twin) would make the plot borderline unstable. It's a silly idea and it can fuck right off.

Ironically, it dates from when people dolloped along mainly on singles, but coped :)

I use arm signals all the time here on both bikes when turning left (your right). The sun is usually so strong that you can't see the indicators.

Especially on the Enduro bike coz we often turn into a dirt road which other road users won't expect as there'll be no obvious signage.

I can't remember the last time I used one of the Highway Code hand signals, probably on 13th February 1981 ;)
