Or do Harley insist on you using their very own Milwaukee-mined, blended and blessed lubricants? I can't imagine that the specification is particularly special, I mean what's peak revs on an H-D?

It's not a unit construction engine, I imagine there'll be one type of oil for the engine, one for the gearbox and another for the clutch.

So not as easy or as cheap as just buying 4l of 10W40 Semisynth.

4 qts in one hole, 1 qt in another and 2 qts in another

Same oil (20w50) for engine and trans, so why they are separate chambers god knows, different oil for the primary, I could've knocked off 40 quid by not going for the synthetic stuff, but meh

I'm sure that the usage I'm going to put my bikes to do not need mega-expensive branded oils. I'm also fairly sure that the stuff that Smith & Allan sell will be equivalent to the more expensive branded options. The only bike that I'll use pukka branded stuff for is the Duke 690, as that has a tiny sump capacity and works its oil hard; everything else will get S & A...

I want an engine that I can strip in my garage with basic tools, not that I'll ever need to unless I fancy dropping in a new cam (actually on the cards) or going big bore 131ci.

It's got more moving parts than my 4 cylinder Kawasaki, seems a bit over complicated to me.
