It was always a thing I felt I needed to do. Own a GSXR 750, I've never done it  One wouldn't work now either

It's a little ironic that the US didn't get the first GSXR750 because of emissions and Europe doesn't get the last GSXR750 because of emissions

I think it's more to do with Suzuki being unwilling to divert funds to uprating petrol engines when there's not likely to be a huge market for big sports bikes anywhere, as country after country shifts to EVs and possibly hydrogen. Easier to build a new twin that meets current and all likely future emission regs from the off - Euro 7 was announced last month, doesn't currently cover bikes but almost certainly will.

Just because you want a 190bhp monster, doesn't mean everyone does.

Imo, if you don't intend to use on track, then 120 bhp is plenty, the 150 + really need a nice juicy track to play on. πŸ‘

70bhp is plenty for fun on track, heck even a CB500 is fun. I know I'm a minority in this, but you're all wrong πŸ˜ƒ

I loved racing the CB500 and doing track days on it, some of the most fun I’ve had, the racing was awesome.

I loved racing my 60ish bhp Desmo Due... against other 60ish bhp Desmo Due bikes.

I'd have been shitting it in the fast group of a trackday against 200bhp thous.

...and if you're not trying to win the group, WTF are you doing out there?

Depends on the track, round Knockhill you get away with less powerful bikes and can have fun even in the fast group or open session with the bigger bikes

I heard Niall MacKenzie comment, the old saying about the rain and the sheep at Knockhill isn't exactly true. If the sheep are at the top it means Neil Hodgson is at the track. :silent:

My FZR400 was about 60bhp, top speed was 135mph (worked out from rpm and gearing) and I was far from the slowest bike on track, even at Snetterton I was passing people on the straights, it was a great little bike, you could get on the power really early coming out of the corners.

You can do that on any bike, if you have any skill.
