Intercoms, why is it........

Post by Demannu »

.......that the only bloody radio station it will find and hold the signal is R3!
First ride out with the (new to me) interphone f5. Thought I'd try out the radio function, better get some more music put on the phone I think.
Decent sound quality and good up to mway speeds, so hopefully navigation should now be a breeze!

Because the signals for FM stations are generally short-range and shite.

They're being phased out anyway, so unless the intercom does digital, you'll be plugging something else in.

It's been pushed back again, 2030 at least now, which given how poor DAB reception can be is a good thing in my book.

OK good to know - I get perfectly good FM reception in the house :) so saves me buying a digital radio just yet :)

Your batteries will probably have died by then, and there'll probably be an even better intercom on the market which can talk to random bikers in New Zealand or something :)

Question...

I've just put the free Spotify app on my phone for bike music, but roughly how much data would an average album use. ??

If you set it to data saving mode, ie. low quality which I'd say is fine for in-helmet listening, then it's something like 10 to 15Mb an hour

Well, used the music streaming bit today.
Have to keep it above 80 otherwise it's too loud!
My radio player app works fine too, for the mean time!

Looked it up - low is 25kbps so only a little over 10MB per hour.
