Biking Plans for 2023

What are your biking plans for 2023?

I've no plans to change my GSX-S 750, it does what I want a motorcycle to do, I enjoy riding it and I now like how it looks.
Kawasaki Z1170R, it's now 40 years old so doesn't need an MOT, it runs as it should, so I may insure it and ride it to some shows
FZ750 will continue to fester in a corner, it's not worth the effort of selling it for the £750 it's worth
350 YPVS will get some attention, got running and if I do any track days this year it will be on this.

I may do some touring on the Suzuki, it will be in the UK, possibly Devon or Wales

I'm not sure I should answer lol.

Mine mostly involves being spanner crew for @Welsh Muffin at Silverstone and Pembrey. She's not really into anywhere else in terms of tracks, so even if something pops up and the weather is nice I doubt she'll jump on it. But with the van now we do at least have the easy option of going somewhere at short notice.
The might zx6 has a new set of Brembo disks fitted and fuel stabiliser in tank, it's due for MOT in Feb, if it's nice it'll get ridden over, but it's more likely it'll be van.

IF I survive the winter in one piece and fully employed, I plan to try and get a big IL4 - cos then I can ride more and further.

If I can't get one, I'll ride little and hopefully often. Hoping to be able to bring the Monster to the UK for the TD (if it's September!).

REALLY want to go to the IoM for the Manx with some friends, but not sure I can manage that as well!


All depends on successful metal removal from knee, and lasting employment!!

More track days hopefully and more days out with the wife.

Other than that it’ll be the usual using the bike for work etc.

In terms of “add ons” for the bike I’m pretty much where I want to be but if funds allow it there’s a wish list, wets on wheels, clip ons etc.

More than 2022. A lot more, if at all possible. This involves having all bikes fully working, MoT'd and taxed. Which means no slacking off with the spanners in Jan/Feb...

I should really get my Fazer thou back on the road. Been saying that for the past two years though, and my somewhat dubious spannering skills could mean i'm left with one hell of a mess of parts and still no bike!!!!

And I may well buy another 300/ 400 cc scooter as my last one was a bundle of laughs.

The rest of my biking will probably be running courses in work.

Another lathe, three pillar drills, a forge, a metal melting furnace, a small power hacksaw, two generators, two woodstoves, a compressor..... Then there's the need for spawn the elder to have a shed at the new house.

Not been posting here for a while. Things haven't been too good but.....
Biking plans.
I had with a mate come up with a plan to buy a suitable Bike and ship it off to NZ around Oct/Nov , then fly out in Jan '24
Spend 2 months there , the mate would ship back and return to the UK. I then ship over to Oz and do a lap of the Island. Got my Boy in Perth so have a target to aim for. Visa restrictions could determine Length of stay.
I've sold all four of my Bikes and bought a V Strom 650. Seeing the Minitwin Guys canning them every other weekend, I assume the motor should stand up to my limp wrists.
This seasons racing exploits are the same except I've sold the Bike to the rider. Won the Championship last year but it was a close run thing. It'll be harder this season.
The Strom will stay in hibernation until April, taking it apart just to make sure I know what goes where. Days out on it will dependant on weather as the Bike has to be immaculate to enter NZ (and Oz)
Apart from that. Er, planning things and packing and re packing

Sell the SD, get the RSV running correctly, do some green laning on the drz and have loose plans for a long weekend to the south west of France in May on the 1190. Apart from that do as many track days as I can get time/money for, spend as much time on the bikes as I can. See if I can get the zxr sorted this year.

I haven't formulated any definite plans as yet,but there are 'maybe' ideas bouncing around my dome.

I hope to have the garage sorted over the Winter and sort the condensation bother. If I get a satisfactory solution,I'll maybe look at a project bike,or a Jap classic.

I'm still in thrall with the big Zed,it's a well sorted bike now after two years fiddling,so I can't see it being traded any time soon. I have notions of a couple of other bikes,an Aprilia RSV4 Tuono Factory or a ZH2,but there are several things staying my hand.

The Aprilia flicks my switches in several departments,but looking at the forums dedicated to the model,it's a horror picture read in terms of reliability,dealer back up and general build quality. I don't think I want to be bothered with that,it would do my head in.

I like the ZH2 for diferent reasons,but it's a heavy bike (40kgs more than mine) and I've told myself I don't want any more of those. It's also fast as fook and I don't have the restraint.

So,stalemate for now.

I don't have plans to go anywhere exotic,I'd settle for dry weather and riding the bike.

Just more riding really. No upgrades planned until the suspension is looked at but that'll be another 18 months away I reckon. Still really enjoying the GSX-S it's a really good do it all bike so just looking forward to riding it as is.

Specific rides I'm definitely going to my uncle's this year, last year just didn't work for various reasons. Depending on weather I could even go in March as have 2 weeks holiday to use up, it'll probably snow though if not it could be ideal though as given the time i could do an extended stay and do the A39 East from Minehead as well as the Weymouth area. I'd also like to ride to the South Coast too as well as my usual East Coast rides. I've already penciled in a ride to Mersea for the afternoon.
