Not been riding in a couple of weeks so took the Frazer out for a play this afternoon and ended up about 100 miles around Narfuck. Suicidal pensioners in brand new cars everywhere driving at 28 mph in nationals and 40 mph in 30’s ffs. Weather was ok for the first 80 or so miles and heated grips didn’t go on till 30 miles in and light rain for last 20 miles
And despite a few people looking at me funny for riding a bike in December this daft bastard was on a sodding paddle board
Downsides are my tyre pressures are lower than they should have been as I didn’t check before I left and also my left foot peg is moving about a bit so will get that off and checked

Re: When/Where/Pics was the last time you rode your bike ?
There is some serious research to be done on this. Sooo often I'm behind cauliflower heads through the (what used to be 50) 40mph stretch into the village and they're like ' trees, bends, no pavements ' all the way. Then we hit the 30 sign at the edge of the village and, woohoo! they're off like scalded cats.
There is something seriously wrong in their heads if they feel safe in 'built up' areas so they feel released to speed but can't cope with roads outside where it is 'officially safe to go faster'.
In the AI future, anyone accelerating 'against the signage', as it were, their car will be automatically rerouted to the Soylent Green production plant where the driver and passengers will be processed along with members of the 'Centre Lane Owners Club'.
Doubt is not a pleasant condition.
But certainty is an absurd one.

Re: When/Where/Pics was the last time you rode your bike ?
Day before yesterday- on the lanes of Southern England with the boys, the amount of rain we've had made it very interesting and hilarious on some of the climbs , all added to the fun , a cracking day albeit with a certain key member of the Jolly-Boys gang missing
Still, the upside was it meant we didn't have to call mountain rescue this time @crust
( only joking old boy, you were missed - hopefully, the last time you were out with us wasn't your last ever )
Anyway, has been a very different last week and Christmas for me this year one way and the other, and a day puffing and panting on the trusty orange thing was the perfect antidote.
I'll get in early and extend my very best wishes to everyone here for a great day and night tonight, and a healthy and prosperous 2023 with lots more fun to come- cheers!

Re: When/Where/Pics was the last time you rode your bike ?
Destination...
First ride for a few weeks, about 100 mile done on the GWA. Went to the Ponderosa cafe on the Horseshoe pass. About 10 bikes in all so fairly quiet, had a cuppa and moved on.
The roads...
Bloody treacherous, plenty of floods hiding some nasty potholes, Where there was no floods, there was crap. Steady goes was order of the day. Was sunny first thing, but by the time I'd pissed about 10.30 ish, the rain had arrived, but gear on, bike out ,so no going back.
Gadgets...
Heated gloves on, but wasn't very cold, just giving them a little ride out. New Cardo packtalk bold was on it's maiden voyage, managed to get radio on and music from phone. Need to play about with it a bit more, lots of button pushing in special sequence to do stuff.
Back home...
Almost stopped raining, bike covered in shit. In for a bailey's coffee, then bike wash and recharge the gadgets. Much enjoyed.

Re: When/Where/Pics was the last time you rode your bike ?
Last day before resuming work and the sun was shining so had to go out for a few hours. Loads of crud on the roads and lots of flooding.
I decided to turn back at the ford (1ft deep and quite fast moving). I had a swim in the summer and didn't fancy a repeat in 5C temps.
The ride back home was a nightmare due to the low sun!

Certain time of the year and day driving up Leith Walk in Edinburgh is like that. Double as bad if wet. You have lights, traffic, pedestrians to contend with. Its hell, i would rather ride home in snow and ice

Re: When/Where/Pics was the last time you rode your bike ?
I managed to get out for a steady spin on both of my bikes earlier.making the most of the mild weather & a break in the clouds
More rain & showers forecast for the next few days..
First ride of the year
There's a lot of water in those fields,at least all the road salt's been washed away. At one point I thought 'oh,it's starting to stay lighter until later in the afternoon',then when I got home I realised the clock on the Suzuki's dash was still set to summer time

All I've done this year so far is fire the ZRX11 & ZX11 up for a few minutes today. Don't want to have to deal with the faffery of gummed up carbs.
