Possibly repairing a Myford ML4 lathe

Possibly as it might not be worth the effort.

Where that bit should be:

It's been unsuccessfully brazed already and welding cast iron is beyond my equipment and skill set so machining it will be the option taken.

Would it not be possible to find someone who can weld cast iron to the required standard? I know a couple of guys who could do that. You would need to get the bore machined afterwards, but that would always be the case.
There is no cloud, just somebody else's computer.

I've a mate who could do this but I'd like to do it myself if possible. A bit more thinking suggests I should check that the bed isn't so badly worn that any other repairs are rendered pointless.
