Pembrey is the obvious highlight. Other than that, not much to write home about. Questioning my progress in ability when I do get out. Speaking of ability, that knee has a long way to go...

This photo sums up my 2022 motorcycling year.
1) I'm riding my SV650S,I only bought the bike as a cheap hack for hacking around on,but it's been a real surprise how much fun the little Suzuki is.I'm made up with it.
2) The photo was taken by one of my mate's,3 of us went for a long weekend down to mid Wales.
We're mates from teenage years & all getting on a bit now,At 61,I'm the oldest & I've been telling them for over a decade that wer'e not getting any younger & if we're going to do some rides together we better get on with it.This year I finally got them to Scotland for a week, they enjoyed it so much that two of them did the weekend in Wales with me.
In 2023 we're going to SW Ireland for a week in May & the Classic TT in August

That mountain road from Devils Bridge to Ellan valley is an instant favourite.
Reminds me of the Trough of Bowland in places

Only my second ever new bike.

I never really considered buying a GS but I’m glad I bought it. This will probably be it until my biking days are done, unless Mrs S gives up on pillion in which case I might downsize. It is a heavy beast to manoeuvre.

Did that route coming down from further north at the start of the year. Sadly in the camperbus but still enjoyable as the sun was out until we passed Rest and Be Thankful then is pissed down all the way to NB. That part was glad i was in the bus

Isn't Florida arch part of Strata Florida abbey, and not the arch in the picture?

Lots of local stuff, not too interesting but kept my bike mojo active, and my mileage up. And this...on our annual NW200 trip. West Donegal. Such a great 10 days or so - it's one of the main reasons why I have a bike.

I'm a bit concerned about the number of people on here who say they are now bored with bikes, rarely ride them, can't see the appeal any more. Up to them, obv, but it seems a pity - they need to be replaced by new, enthusiastic riders, otherwise the numbers involved in general will fall even more.

I am not Welsh so never got a straight answer, but it is certainly linked to the Abbey,I suspect as an outlying ysbty ( hostel) on the pilgrim trail.
I love the Rhayader - elan- Pont Rhy Y Groes road, though never done it on a bike.

One of my favourites also. Have you ridden the B4343 South of Devil's Bridge to Tregaron, then take the Devil's staircase road to Llanwrtyd Wells, another cracker.

It's a nice bit of world I wouldn't mind living in. 👍
