And having knackered myself yesterday playing catch-up... I find myself trying not to slack off again today. 7.30pm & still have 100 sit-ups & 100 tripod rows to do.

And I need to split the exercises so I'm not doing all of them every day... No bugger does that. But still do the 100 rep/30 day deal. Tomorrow is day 30 of 100 sit-ups/day for 30 days... so will swap that out to 100 every other day.

I don’t know anything about those sort of exercises but wouldn’t you get better results by doing progressive overload?
Ie do 80 a day one week, then 100, then 120, then have a recovery week etc etc.

Well fuck, went to bed last night & then remembered the 100 sit ups, so today I get to do 200 (again, FFS)
I'm just trying to get everything working. The gym rats don't do everything every day, I'm gonna split the various (post 100/30day) exercises into alternate days 6 days a week & veg on Sundays. Sit ups on Mon/Wed/Fri, push ups on Tue/Thu/Sat etc

In the (admittedly) few “I did 100 x for 30 days” videos I’ve seen, they don’t actually improve very much 🤣 Just adapt, plateau fast and then get tired.

It’s kind of like Zwift racing every day 🤔 🤷🏻‍♂️🤣

The 100 rep/30 day deals were just starting points. The sit-up one had results, there is evidence of abs for the first time in probably 20 years. & all my t shirts are now loose around the gut & tighter across the chest/shoulders, so something is happening.

This catch-up malarky is BS. Had to do it on Dec 2, 7, 22 & 24th & I did bugger all on the 19th as I was out on the ZX11 that day.

New program starts tomorrow, still need to work out what I'll be doing on days 1/3/5 & on days 2/4/6.

Thinking 100 sit ups & 100 push ups on alternate days & then figure out the rest
Alternating bicep curls & o/h presses is likely.

My plan for 2023 is to do more of the same as was done in 2022. My total bike mileage was down but we have got a pooch now so he takes up a bit of time. My walking and ball throwing stats from about May 2022 have gone through the roof :)
I'll try and tidy the diet up but I like eating so it probably won't happen.

Race more MTB enduro and XC, get 100 miles in on the road bike, maybe a few sportives. Hopefully that will help double this years mileage. It will all be cycling this year and beyond now that running and football is canned.

I'm just looking forward to being able to use a bicycle regularly - since the cold snappette early / mid Dec it's just been miserable around here.

that shouldn't stop you... it's awful round here, but we've still been out lots... just lots of cleaning needed of both rider and bike after :D

It shouldn't but it does! I'll still cycle in lousy weather but certainly not as much - and definitely not in the throwing rain!!

Back with the program as new stuff has arrived. Threw the doodad I broke in the trash & replaced it with a 6ft straight bar, 5ft wavy bar & 65lb in weight plates.. which gives me 90lb for the straight bar & 80lb for the wavy bar.

Just been playing in the logbook, figured I should see what's in it as I'm logging everything.
It appears I did just shy of 350k meters last season and am on target to beat it this season, I should also break the 1 million meter mark before the end of the year.

I still hate exercising.
Well I did the million meters, been there got the t-shirt ;) this season is sitting at 420k meters with another 3 months to go.
Now doing 5k a night 4 nights a week, might up that to 5 nights, just completed 5k at an average pace of 2:14, which for me is good so I'll take it.

Nice job. I think I'd do well to get that now.

I think my best back in the day was 18min 52

My 10k was about a 2.03 average

I’m still Concept 2 curious 🤔

If I finally get bored of cycling by next winter, I may get one and cross train on it. In fact, maybe it will help me keep this 2 year streak going.

Late to the thread as usual :)
Christmas in our house carries on until mid January as Eldest has his birthday on 4th and Mrs GP on 14th.
So this is really only day 5 of the new regime but diet wise I'm being a good boy, no booze or bread, plenty of veg an fruit etc etc. I'm doing 5-2 as well.
I need to loose around 5-6 kg so as well as diet I'm trying to get more exercise although my dogs are useless for brisk long distance walks and the pavements are covered in ice. All my dosh is going into house stuff at the moment but as I'm selling the Monster, I think I'll get an E-Mtb with some of the proceeds (need to start another thread on that as its a couple of years since I looked at the market, which was crazy then).

Will report back regularly with progress :)

Due to Mrs Weeksy going out i had to skip Wed for a 2 day.... but i have gone for Thurs, which is unusual for me. What i am finding today though is that getting/keeping warm is bloody hard. I'm struggling today with a 2 day i can tell you.
Only anohter hour or so for fish and grains and i can hopefully start getting a little warmer. If not, i may have to can this 5-2 until things get a little less bloody freezing outside/inside.
FWIW it's not exactly flying off, but i'm 6lb down on the month of Jan which is a decent effort
