^^^
That is just several kinds of wrong. A '50s design dragged kicking and screaming into the '70s with added tat and chrome. And people wonder why the British bike industry crashed and burned.

The power egg was a 60's thing, but the 70's updates to the bodywork didn't do anything for the A65. The biggest NOPE is that headlamp tho', who the fuck thought that was a good idea.

Yeah, the power egg was '60s, but the basic engine architecture dated back to the late '40s, ferchrissake. And the earlier engine was a lot more pleasing visually than the unit construction redesign. But the biggest crime is that headlight, as you say.KungFooBob wrote: Fri Dec 23, 2022 8:52 pm The power egg was a 60's thing, but the 70's updates to the bodywork didn't do anything for the A65. I was a teenager in the 60s and when comparing the old British iron to the stuff coming out of Japan, it was absolutely no contest. I didn't even consider Brit bikes when window-shopping, they just looked old-fashioned and problematic. And that was before you considered reliability, oil-tightness etc. A mate of mine summed up Brit bikes in 3 words - rusty old shit.

Wonder if they plan the same treatment for that red Roller?

What's the hole in the seat for? I'm imagining some sort of slider crank linkage to the front sprocket.

Rule #1. If an advert uses ALL CAPS, just walk away.
Rule #2. If the seller's description appears to be totally unrelated to photographs of the bike, just walk away.
Rule #3. If roller chains are used as any kind of structural medium, just walk away.
