Battery Tender brand here, doubled the life of batteries in the ZRX11. Bike was always plugged into it 24/7 unless I was out riding. The issue now is finding Yuasa batteries instead of Chinese crap. Yuasa's website doesn't list anywhere within 500 miles of LA that carries them.

Given that lead-acid batteries don't like to be flattened ('deep-discharged') I'm guessing the most important thing is to avoid that, which maybe could include starting the bike with a partially discharged battery after a few weeks without being used - especially in very cold weather. So whether you have your charger hooked up all the time, or just periodically, is probably secondary.
