Did you really expect anything else ?
To be fair, I'm impressed that it came in at under 20K!
How many days before it gets returned?

Don't, it more or less says that theres tools kept in the van overnight cos damn nearly every one I see with the sticker has gear in on a night.
And as mentioned, try to avoid stickers that show your hobbies.
MX/Mountain bike clothing manufacturer stickers even, it's not hard to work out.

It was meant as a joke.demographic wrote: ↑Mon Dec 12, 2022 10:59 pmDon't, it more or less says that theres tools kept in the van overnight cos damn nearly every one I see with the sticker has gear in on a night.

I've used vans as daily drivers for a lot of years, I've always left them plain. No stickers, no extra locks, nothing on display in the cab, nothing to suggest there's anything in it. I've never had one broken into. I do tend to tweak them a bit, the current one has Bilstein suspension and sits a bit lower. Nothing radical but enough to make it not look like a tradesmans van.
Like Weeksy, I bought my first van for carrying bikes to and from races, they're such a useful vehicle I'm surprised everyone doesn't own one.

I'm still surprised i didn't get one for the last 15 years since i sold the big yellow sprinter i used to race out of the back of.Pirahna wrote: ↑Tue Dec 13, 2022 8:07 amIt was meant as a joke.demographic wrote: ↑Mon Dec 12, 2022 10:59 pmDon't, it more or less says that theres tools kept in the van overnight cos damn nearly every one I see with the sticker has gear in on a night.

Considering how many times we've used and needed a van, it's bonkers we've not had one before. lol

I couldn't even begin to imagine, at times we've been doing 15+ trackdays a year which whilst OK on trailer, isn't my favourite.Mr. Dazzle wrote: ↑Tue Dec 13, 2022 8:19 am I can count on one hand the number of times I've needed a van...and 3 of those were moving house
Add into that most weekends are now muddy and wet... It's really pretty much essential.

Re: Find me a van then...
I loved my old Mk6 Transit I used for racing.
I used it to commute in preference to the car, not because I need to shift loads, just because it was fun to drive.
You get to sit up high so you can see all kinds of shit you don't in the car and you always win games of chicken with car drivers

Who were you racing against and how competitive was the van?KungFooBob wrote: ↑Tue Dec 13, 2022 8:28 am I loved my old Mk6 Transit I used for racing.

I'm missing having a bigger van. I downsized to a Berlingo sized van because spawn in law had a LWB Vivaro but he recently rolled into a rocky ditch.
My timewasting is mostly spent clicking the links to vans on this thread and wondering.

Re: Find me a van then...
Fitting statement really, 'cause the Van driving position is like sitting on the bog

Re: Find me a van then...
I raced EVERYONE!
It was a non-intercooled TDDI with a mind blowing 75bhp. The amount of metal missing due to rust meant it had a much better power to weight ratio than when it left the factory.

Re: Find me a van then...
Lol first job is getting it delivered... By this weekend as off riding/racing... So that's job 1.
Job2 will be some locks... Job 3... well that's between a wheel arch top rack for kit... or... well, not a lot really. Wouldn't mind carpeting the Ply, just to make it a bit nicer... but whether i can actually be bothered until summer, i'm not sure.

Well the first job is sorted for tomorrow and the van is now insured and being delivered in the morning.weeksy wrote: ↑Tue Dec 13, 2022 9:31 amLol first job is getting it delivered... By this weekend as off riding/racing... So that's job 1.

My mate also upgraded my warranty for me from the 15 months i paid a bit extra to get, to 'Lifetime', which is awesome as if this thing keeps on working, it shouldn't be going anywhere for a long old time.
Next discussion is on the locks/security measures now.

I'm thinking this set. Plus potentially a ground anchor from Pragmasis.

He knows your lifetime ownership will be well under 15 months, I'll be surprised if you've still got it in 15 weeks, I wouldn't be shocked if it's gone in 15 days.
