Friend of mine who is a Ducati freak did have a break from the marque and purchased an MV F4 750 - that was a lovely looking thing when new and I think still is now.
He replaced that with a 998S Final Edition in 2004 which he still owns

I always wanted a 1986 Suzuki RM80G - it was the first little RM that had the look of the works bikes in the same way the bigger ones did.

Given that I couldn't really ride one now it'd have to be bought just to look at.

I'll have 2 please.

An MV and a Velo Thruxton Venom. I would never ride the Velo, mainly because I wouldnt be able to start it. And if I did I would probably be disappointed.

In my thoughts it's a 50cc racebike in the drawing room.

The reality is anyone of the four bikes in my shed.

One of my best pals in Bradford has 2 mint bikes on his front room.

YPVS350 and RC30. They each get 2 rides a year.

He has 3 other bikes in garage to play on.

80's and 90's Bimota's.

I'd want to ride them, but the thought of damaging the unobtanium plastics would relegate them to show pieces only.

I read a story about Display RC45's and how there's bikes out there with no engine internals that were made just to display on stands, maybe one of them cos I wouldn't be able to ride it.

Mate of mine has an MV in his living room that hasnt been ridden in years, he has a number of other bike to play on though both on the road and track.

I havent got the space in either my house or sheds to put one inside "just to look at" but a 916/998 or similar could be found a space if i binned off stuff in storage

I had one just like that - and I sold it to Couchy, as I just wasn't doing the miles on it.
Why I didn't just keep hold of it is beyond me (other than it was a PITA to ride)

But I would probably now go for a 999s!

Already got it! But if I had a massive plantation style house with a sweeping staircase i'd like it displayed under the stairs along with a CB750 and a Triton.

It bemuses my why folk are obsessed by older bikes as though they are better.
When VD started up in 2000 folk were saying new bikes are shit and love the old bikes.

Now folk are saying new bikes are shit and we love the bikes from 2000.

In 20 years folk will be saying, well, you can guess :D
