Battery Jig Saw
Anyone got one. do they drain the battery as fast as the angle grinders? Seen a few Makita ones going cheap but battery run time if low will make me hate it. All my Makita batteries are 5 amp.

Re: Battery Jig Saw
I have the De-Walt one which I reckon is about the nicest out of the cordless ones I've tried.
The Makita wasn't far off it from what I remember.
Battery life? Enough. It's one of those tools I don't really hammer much and pretty much any 5 Ah tool I use does fine and the worst is either an SDS drill or a cordless circular saw and even they charge up faster than they discharge in normal (but proper trade) usage.

Re: Battery Jig Saw
Thanks for that. I would be relative light use. Gardening is mostly what i do with a bit fencing and the odd handy man jobs for a few customers. When i do need one i find it a pain using cables and running a dirty extension lead over the place. Think i may just go order one nowdemographic wrote: ↑Sat Dec 10, 2022 9:59 pm I have the De-Walt one which I reckon is about the nicest out of the cordless ones I've tried.

Re: Battery Jig Saw
Just make sure its got tool less blade change cos ratching about for an allen key gets old fast.
I guess pretty much all will have it by now but just make sure.

Yeah it has the quick release. Made that mistake with my reciprocating saw. Would have paid the extra for the next model up had i noticed.

Re: Battery Jig Saw
Was going to suggest recip saw as you'd mentioned using it in the garden and recip saws have longer blades available.
I have one but for my work it doesn't get much usage, more for when someone has left a scaffold tube in the way of a roof build (whistles innocently).
