Re: World Cup 22 The Sweepstake Thread
I'm still sitting here smugly with Brazil , but there are differing rumours about the health of St. Pele back in Brazil . It calls to mind the death of Kublai Khan in the 13th Century , where the Mongol hordes were on the point of defeating the finest of European knights , hearing the news , just turned around and went home to elect a new leader .
On the other hand , they may just try a little harder ?

Ah, I remember it well. We were just having a brew and doing a bit of helm polishing before being slaughtered, as you do, and they waved, shouted 'Toodle-pip chaps, Kubby's popped his clogs. Same time next year?' and rode off.Treadeager wrote: βThu Dec 08, 2022 11:42 am I'm still sitting here smugly with Brazil , but there are differing rumours about the health of St. Pele back in Brazil . Re: World Cup 22 The Sweepstake Thread
Well, Who's the muppet in the house
Sat at work this morning, boss gets a call needing a transfer this evening (well, leaving here late afternoon) and is stressing as its a decent transfer, but hasn't got a driver with enough hours to do the job.
So, being kind and helpful I go "I can do that if it helps" - bit of a conversation as I started early this morning but that meant I finished early this afternoon so could chill a bit before setting out.
So we priced it high, they said yes THEN -
yup, I'm missing the band I want to see and the football FFS!
Now the customer has messaged to say the flight is delayed again, so it's gonna be a serious late one tonight
Must remember not to volunteer, wait to be asked!!
