From Auntie Beeb - Motorways to trial 60mph limits to cut pollution
Since the de facto speed limit appears to be 80 or above I'd love to know how this will pan out.
Will we have rakes of drivers losing their licences if these experimental limits are actually enforced?

Re: 60 mph motorway trial
I think that I 'predicted ' (not really, it's been talked about for a couple of years) back on TRC.
Perhaps it will be linked to live roadside monitoring (kittens in cages?) and so dynamic.

I live near junction 36 of the M1, that 34-32 section is very heavily cameraed. It's gonna make someone a shed load of cash.

Re: 60 mph motorway trial
If people already know the cameras are there - and judging by the number of cars I see braking to 70 in just the right place - then how so? Won't they just do exactly the same but brake to 60 instead?KungFooBob wrote: ↑Tue Sep 15, 2020 1:05 pm I live near junction 36 of the M1, that 34-32 section is very heavily cameraed. Of course, there are plenty of idiots who brake for average speed cameras.
