My plan to walk up mountains a lot has been curtailed (probably) for a few days - looks like snow forecast most of the next three days. I'll still get up early tomorrow and have a looksee - if its not actually snowing, I'll have a go anyway!! LOL

I broke the 4k barrier on the old concept 2 tonight.
With luck and barring illness (I always get set back 0.5 - 1k after a week off) I'll be at my 6k target before long, then just keep grinding them out 3 days a week with a bit of free weight work in between.

Probably up my meal replacement shakes to 3 times a week to shift some of the weight I put on over chrimbo, keep doing the low carb think as it was working, slowly, but steadily before the Christmas booze and snackage got in the way.

Well that's all gone now, and if I remain steady at loosing 1kg a week I'll be happy

Ta.
It'd be easier if I didn't absolutely hate exercising with a passion.
I think the only reason I do it now is to set an example for my daughter, which so far is paying off, when I left school that was pretty much it for exercise / sports (apart from 5 years of paintballing), but she hits the gym most days now.

I find that quite bizarre :)

Bought a decent s/h Concept2 11 days ago and have only missed 3 days on it since.
We've got a Kickr but I find it a real faff to got some software up and running, get kitted up and then get everything all talking to each other, and that's before you can even turn a pedal. At least with the ergo you can just get on it in your pants and socks and away you go!

Well as I'm waiting for the HT tail to be fixed, its out on the FS which is a completely different riding style and commutes on the road bike. It's amazing what a few days off exercise and a good nights sleep can do. I was able to fairly easily hold an average HR of 155 for 30mins on the cycle path to work (at 0600 in the dark). Most mornings its a struggle to hit 140av.

Looks like I need to put a request in with work that if I do five days in a row, please can I start after 9.30 on one in the middle!! Cos, leaving resort at between 6am - 8.30am is too early to do ski touring first :( :( But I have done a whole day of fast skiing today and ache quite well from it - despite sitting in a minibus too much the last 5 days, my legs still work pretty well :D :D

And, I'm 200g off my first target of weight loss!! LOL I still have 15kg to go (roughly, might change as I get lighter and fitter!) so the first goal is not a big step (and still not a number I like!), but it's a step in the right direction!!

I've just entered the "Rocket 5k" run here in MK. Its part of the MK marathon weekend over the early May BH. They close down roads all through the city and have lot of different length road runs.

The Rocket 5k is almost all on dual carriageway "grid roads" and is nearly all downhill. Hence the name.

I really want to do my first sub 20min 5k, although even sub 21 would be pretty satisfactory and a PB. I've decided I can't be arsed with longer than 10k any more, I just get bored, instead I've decided to focus on going faster.

I find my general health and well being is better if I run regularly, especially my sciatica. I also find I need some motivational target to actually do it properly.

Bunch of weirdos. I put on a stone over the past two month and intend on keeping it. I could do with another one but that will be a 12 month goal.

I don't think I'm doing that well. But it's down to planning I guess. I'm not gaining but I'm trying hard to be organised and eat and drink more regularly when I'm working. But it's not working really well at the mo. So I get home knackered and hungry. Still trying to drink enough too. But I will get there. When the stress stops (or at least reduces!!) everything else will be easier!!!

Just need time to get out touring more and that will make me happy and help the fitness thing!!

On the plus side, it's snowing :D :D

Just been playing in the logbook, figured I should see what's in it as I'm logging everything.
It appears I did just shy of 350k meters last season and am on target to beat it this season, I should also break the 1 million meter mark before the end of the year.

I still hate exercising.

The step app on my phone says I've done 2.700 kms in last 11 months

414 miles in 5 months*. So, about 80 miles a month. Probably up the distances in spring (it's a bit muddy out there :( ) and aim for the 1000 miles in a year.

I don't log the swimming. As soon as I hit the water it stops logging pulse so I leave it off.

*about 4000m climbed.
