Moleskin trousers.

It's a shame the moles had to die, but they are lovely and warm.

They're from M&S, I'm properly old now so I felt it only proper to get some.

No but I did have my red trousers on the other day (well they're more maroon than bright red) with my brown Loake suede boots, a Barbour checked shirt, a Schoffel gilet and Stetson newsboy cap, apparently I looked like a country gypsy.

(The hat is lovely btw, I bought it a couple of years ago and added it to my collection without hardly wearing it, I rediscovered it recently and it's my favourite - https://www.hatsandcaps.co.uk/products/ ... -cap-brown)

Potter, is that you?

I like hats. I have friends who wear them. They look stylish, rakish and elegantly cool. Yet I put one on and I look like one of the special kids out for a day trip licking the bus windows.

I have a passing acquaintance with the local God-botherer in my local high street. Nice fella actually, and who has a selection of fine titfers, including Panamas, Fedoras, flat caps and all sorts. Never without one.

I'm a hat man (that sounds like it should have another meaning aside from a fellow who likes hats) and I have a varied collection, in the hallway at the moment on the hatstand is a bowler hat, a couple of newsboy caps and a pork pie. In the wardrobe are a few more newsboys, four or five trapper hats, a couple of trilbys and loads of assorted beanies and stuff.

One of the things I miss about living in a bustling city is that I can't wear my bowler, well I could but it would get too much attention.
Step into the street in London in my bowler and Burberry short Kensington and you'll hardly get a second glance, dress like that in a village in rural Lancashire and you'll get all kinds of unwanted attention - which is ironic really because it was designed as a gamekeepers hat and it would have been very common here once.

The whole top shelf of a three long wardrobe is just my hats.
I fancy an Indiana Jones type hat next - https://www.hatsandcaps.co.uk/products/ ... ight-brown
(Village Hats are good to buy from btw)

It'd have to be from Herbert Johnson!

Used to go there every year to get a hat for my Dad for Christmas. It was a lovely place.

My current big island hat is a Bates Berkeley, previous to that it was a Lock & Co rollable Trilby. The latter was more convenient but lost shape quite easily.

Small island headwear is is a rollable necktube buff type thing, mostly to keep the weather off.

Just bought a champion 2200w generator for track days and other stuff to replace the big Briggs and Stratton. Very pleased with it. Weighs half as much, takes up less room and much quieter.

Paid 550 which I thought was pretty good and got more than I paid for the old generator on eBay.

Bigger and beefier than ours. Ours seems to do ok at 2 warmers but anything else would kill it.

I didn't want anything that was running at its limit, I mainly wanted something that didn't weight 50Kg any more :wtf:

My last generator was 1000w. Lucky if it could run a string of lights. Made bought it to use an angle grinder when he was doing kerbside motors. The power surge tripped it every time. I took it to the tip and cant decide if i want one or not for the camperbus.

Our genny is a 1000w inverter I bought years ago from Machine Mart for when we were motocrossing, it did the caravan lights and the telly ok, but we had to use the gas for the kettle.

I keep it now just for emergencies, at a pinch I could back feed the board at the house and have just a couple of lights and the internet on, then use the open fires and log burner to keep warm. The stove has a gas hob and I was going to change it for a full electric Aga but I don't think I will whilst we still have gas.

I've been looking at those compact generators recently as 2.2kw will do me nicely for a number of situations. Plenty available here including Aksa who are the generators of choice locally but they are twice the price of a regular 2kw generator (like your old one). I appreciate that they're more compact, lighter and easily moved around but I'm reluctant to pay twice as much.

Completely agreed until I twinged my back shifting the old one.

Same here would love some hats (other than wooly hats) but put one on and I just look like I'm wearing it for a bet.
