Diameter of unleaded petrol pump nozzle?

Post by iansoady »

A strange question but does anyone know the OD of forecourt petrol pump nozzles? I'm making a filler adaptor for my XBR500 bitsa and need to know how big a hole to leave down the middle. I suppose I could go to a petrol station and measure one but they'll probably get all suspicious and call the bomb squad.

Thanks in advance.

Many thanks, your google must be better than mine. All I could find were US ones and I wasn't sure if it was an international standard. Even if it was they usually ignore them.
13/16" sounds easier for me to meausre and cut to....

Draw a circle of [size] on a piece of card
Visit petrol station

Measure twice, etc. ;)

Wouldn't it just be easier to take a digital sliding caliper to do so?

Make the 'ole the size of your fist. That ought to be big enough, and a bit of slack wont hurt.
