Neither of us have ever been there. (Me and @Couchy ) that is.

If it's not nice weather i'll bring the gazebo with sides and some seats. Obviously that won't help the cold, but it's only Couchie who will be cold as he's the one not pedalling.

It will be cold, bring warm clothes to change into when you've finished riding, there's a good chance of mist which will go around lunch time, but the most likely weather is dry and cold.
Twisted Oaks is on a sandy hillside so drains pretty well, there is a boggy bit at the bottom, but there's not much of that.
You'll want a vehicle with reasonable ground clearance to get along the half mile or so of track that leads to it, my Mitsubishi Lancer wouldn't get there without scrapping the ground.
I'm guessing they'll put you on the big car park at the top of the hill.

Feck off, I dislike the place, riding round there in a crowd is my idea of hell, I'm more of a solitary gentle ride out in the country person.

I had a little play here on sunday morning...

Started off on the dual slalom, last time I went it was closed so was good to get actually get a few goes in. Thought I was doing ok until I saw a dad and his boy (he must have been about 6) getting crazy air... awesome to watch though.

I wanted to try clearing a small gap jump, I did, but I bottled doing the next one and crashed trying to stop!

We did the start of the cross country a few times, stopping after the berms each time to go back up and start again. I crashed after one of the jumps here too. Not quite sure what happened, but I ended up sliding for a while and stopped by hitting a post supporting a baby tree. Bikes alright and I'll have some cool scars on my knees, and now I've got a new lid and knee protectors!

We did loads of runs on the Toax trails too, these are lots fun being fairly short with little jumps, and tight berms.

I'd been considering a new front tyre - something like a magic mary to replace the high roller 2, but it did a good job and didn't slip in corners so I'm not sure it's worth it. I don't think either crash was tyre related :)

Should be fun in a couple of weeks...

No we'll just roll up on the day, we're only about 30 miles away so an easy drive.

I watched that video at the weekend - The stage she rides around 8:30 with the whale tail is going to be fun...I'll be taking the easy route for most of that one! Really looking forward to the whole thing though!

Just seen this:
https://southernenduro.co.uk/twisted-oa ... s-briefing

Looks like the stages are pretty similar to previous ones - might even be a tiny little road gap in there...
