Struggling to find someone who can diagnose, refrurb / replace the VANOS on a 3 series E46. Any recommendations?

Whereabouts are you again? I might know of someone, or a firm.
Any independent BMW specialist should be able to sort that out without too much bother though

We're struggling. There seem to be a few places that will replace, but the only local places I can find are Perfect Touch Performance in Enfield and some place in Leatherhead. both booked to end of October. We are on South London/Surrey borders. The Martian wrote: ↑Thu Sep 10, 2020 10:38 pm Whereabouts are you again? I might know of someone, or a firm.

Asked my step bro, he's too busy as he's an MOT tester and they are flat out. He suggested trying Dr Vanos?

Aren't the vanos cleanable? On my wife's Mini Cooper I took it apart and flushed out the mesh etc and it was a bazillion times better for it.

As the Sky Marshall says though, it's a reasonable DIY job for the reasonably handy (so I'm told) my step bro taught himself via YouTube video and did his own on a 330.

Sorry - wasn't actually being facetious, as the Dr Vanos.com based in Austin send refurbished exchange units worldwide but you need to find your own fitter, or do it yourself. The Martian wrote: ↑Sun Sep 13, 2020 12:27 amObviously not.. I cant actually find a UK Dr Vanos. There is a Mr. Vanos. Is that what you're thinking of?

Is your lad on any E46 forums / bimmer forum? They have loads of knowledgeable and helpful guys, bound to find someone fairly local.
