Fantic Caballero... again.

Post by KungFooBob »

Now with added Yamaha CP2 engine from the MT07....

Looks a bit more 'finished' than the 500.

Definitely like the look of that. Better styling than the MT, but could use another disc up front.

Definitely a better prospect than the 500 but £9k is steep.

Hmm...quite like that. Are Fantic decent build quality these days?

Very nice - I'd much rather have that than an XSR. Pricier, yes, but looks a much better spec - forks, modes, cornering ABS, bluetooth connectivity etc.

More hipster guff. I wish that fashion trend would take itself off to a corner and shoot itself.

It's a horrid looking ditchpump of an engine that, I dunno why they're so popular for specials.

Is there a good looking euro 6 engine out there?

That big nasty lump in a Caballero doesn't make much sense to me, but in fairness I'm a bit of a dinosaur and perhaps I'm out of touch. I preferred the smaller CC bikes, they seem to make more sense and I think they've sold reasonably well.

It must be really hard to design a bike that will create a niche for itself and sell well.
Maybe they could take a look at their back catalogue...

It's partly because they have a deal with Yamaha to build bikes with Yamaha engines. So that's the 300 or the 700. I seriously doubt they haven't the resources to build their own Euro 5 engine.

Looks liek it has an identity crisis. Not sure what it trying to be tbh. CP2 is a stonking engine for this type of bike but i'd leave it in the Tenere chassis it belongs in.

Bit confused. It seems to rate terribly getting low marks for the well loved engine. Along with crap tyres, which can be changed anyway.

I remain unmoved by this one. It just blends with all the other hipster, dirt bike tyred road bikes. It's tidily enough done, but I don't like it.

I imagine they've done their research and there's a market for the bike.

The VD review is a bit better than the Comic one.
