Sykes to Puccetti
That’s it now confirmed. Hopefully he can still mix it and get decent results.

Not great with Mahias and Rabat, can’t mind but Rabat left earlier in the season, Mahias had a few decent showings but crashed quite a bit, I think he was injured at one stage as well.

Finished 14th in the standings with Lucas Mahias riding it. I would expect Sykes to nudge the top ten in the final standings next year, but I don't think Puccetti have the setup to do more than that as a team. Whilst Sykes is undeniably fast, he is getting on a bit, so I doubt he'll be capable of being a consistent top 5 man.

Re: Sykes to Puccetti
I did find it funny when mid season he was saying that the Ducati was a competitive bike, but not in the trim it runs in BSB. I read that as, "I'm getting on a bit and I'm not prepared to learn how to ride these things without electronics - my bones are a bit chalky and they don't mend well. However, the bike works with electronics, so if I suck up to Ducati, maybe I'll get a satellite Ducati to ride."
He'll have to do well this year to have a hope in continuing racing - I can't see anyone in BSB taking another punt on him, so that pension top up plan is out.

Re: Sykes to Puccetti
He still finished ahead of his teammate Josh Brooks, he did well when it was a circuit he knew ridiculously well and had spent time at in WSBK.
He also finished ahead of MVD in WSBK on the beemer but they let him go, still fight in him yet, he knows how to shake a leg that’s for sure.

I'd like to get behind Sykes. He's a local boy and he seems like a nice chap.
Shame he's a ginger.

Re: Sykes to Puccetti
It's good to see teams giving youngsters the chance, if you finish 12th in BSB which is a great championship to watch but we all know it's not world level you shouldn't be off to WSB. Can't blame anyone taking a pay check though and there is an outside chance he'll do well on bikes he is more used too but when the BSB winner in '21 couldn't move to WSB it's crazy.
