Re: EICMA 2022
Looks a hell of a lot better than the one in the spy pics.
The big question is does it make 90bhp like the new Honda twin engine?

Re: EICMA 2022
Specs are going to really count for the GSX. With 800cc you'd hope it's got more power/torque than the competition or at least match the Honda. Then there's price, the Honda is very cheap considering.

Less power and more weight than the Honda, but also more electronic gizmos as standard.

Oof. So it's got a job on it's hands then. Sounds like they made it to compete with the MT07/Trident and Honda has blindsided em.

I wonder if there's a new Transalp about to be unveiled?
And here it is

Re: EICMA 2022
Sounds like it'll cost a lot more than the Honda too
Although we don’t have an official price tag for the GSX-8S yet the word is that the bike will arrive at around the £8250 mark. If that’s right, it’s likely to be closer to the Yamaha MT-09 than the MT-07 and substantially more expensive than the stunningly affordable, £6999 Honda CB750 Hornet that’s also new for 2023
202kg is also only 9kg less than my GSX 1000 It's nearly 20kg more than an MT07

Re: EICMA 2022
As a more powerful version of an MT07 with better components / spec It's looks great but, as you say, it's sounding like a slightly cheaper underpowered MT09, which would be a shame.
And MCN are guessing at £8.5k!

Re: EICMA 2022
According to that MCN article,Honda are claiming 208KG wet weight for the new Transalp & seat height is 850mm with a 825mm option.
I think it looks really nice & doesn't have a beak
I'll be down at the dealers in the New Year

Re: EICMA 2022
That new Tranny would probably be a cracking bike. Not for me as it's not my thing but power and weight sound good for a Adv style bike.

Re: EICMA 2022
The new Alp is probably on a par spec wise with the BMW F850GS, if it's cheaper than the BMW it will sell well.
I can see it taking customers from the AT tho', I guess Honda don't care as long as you buy a Honda.

Re: EICMA 2022
It reminds me of what someone once said about the Mitsubishi FTO: Looks like it races Porsches, actually races Mondeos.
