Seen that posted on Twitter the other day, haven’t seen it anywhere else just yet. Going to concentrate on the GSX-S and such like.

It's a sad time when the only GSXR is a 125 :(

Meanwhile the USA is getting what - I think - is the best looking version for some years for 2023

The GSXR1000 is no longer being imported to Europe as it won't meet Euro 5 regulations and I guess Suzuki aren't selling enough of them to make it worth while making it Euro 5 compliant, which is a shame, but, as Yorick is the only person on here who wants to buy one, not surprising.

I do think it's a sign of the times though, big stupidly fast bikes, they have a place in the world, but it's rarely on the road these days. Society has moved on, youngsters rarely even consider bikes, emissions are only part of the issue IMO.

Different times ahead. Things we took for granted are changing.

Lots of manufacturers have made variations and updates on long running models, but few can claim every one was great. I don't think Suzuki ever made a bad GSXR1000.

Damn good bikes, even if the owner is only using a fraction of the potential.

You can’t go wrong with them, so many good memories over the years on the GSXR 1000. Not to worry, we’ll soon be fannying about on electric pieces of absolute boring shite.

I may be wrong (entirely possible) but the battery bike thing may turn out to be a dead end in many ways. Not that I'll have a dog in the fight by then, anyway.

I'm staying open to the idea until i try one... But the reality is, i probably won't ever bother finding out.

And the straight economic argument - consumers are very fussy about the big, the best, the fastest - but how big is the actual market now for these bikes?
I suspect it is the balance between the consumer demands vs lack of new riders ( so Weeky's point)

Looking at howmanyleft.co.uk there have been 2 GSXR1000s registered this year in the UK.

Nothing's changed except the clothes.

But the clothing completely changes the dynamics of the experience. Changning the clothes mean it's a 100mph fun bike or a 160mph fun bike.

Still 'stupidly fast'.
