Fitted the 780 bars, well they're about 770 but with grips come in at 780.

Not a lot else to do to it today. Still waiting for the Boxxers to arrive for the lads DH bike, due tomorrow.

Spring for Slayer should be Tues or Weds. But let's face it, with all the rain at the moment, it's no big loss.

Well that's interesting, to me anyway.

Spring is 400*57.5-65.

I'd have thought it'd be way soft but sag has me at 30% and jumping off kerbs I'm not particularly close to the travel. The Slayer setup pdf has 400 spring as 82-86kg which I have been close to on a good day but I'm probably up in the 95 bracket at the moment.

It's saying 95kg is 550 which is the spring I've ordered for it. I guess it'll depend how things play out on actual trails and jumpy bits though

There are rather a lot of them! Bet you don't know Rule 63 without looking.

I've still not ridden the bugger yet. I fitted a spring from a mate which was 450*65 off his Bird AM9, weirdly it felt a bit softer than my 400*57.5-65

Then tonight I was doing something in the garage and looking for a goggle bag, I found my stash of shock springs, 7 of the buggers.
Including a 450*57.5-65

So that's been lobbed on.

Due to work, rain, sorting GT Fury etc I've still not sat in ot apart from a little mess in the street. I'm hoping to rectify that tomorrow or Thursday

A mate shouted me to go out... despite not having my Dyedbro kit yet, it would be rude not to try it as it was dry, in the sky anyway.

Cracking mostly XC based ride and shakedown for it.

Good points
Suspension is superb
Handling is great
Pedals nicely

Bad points
Bars a little too wide
Seat not the comfiest
Saddle/post too low.
Gears need indexing

It also had a creak, which i resolved by tightening the preload adjuster a little more... but overall, it's marvellous and i really like it. Doesn't feel alien at all, well, apart from the mud, which feels aliens as i've not done mud for months and months, but it feels great.

Dyedbro kit installed today. Wasn't a terrible job and did it fairly well. £40, I'll take that.

Is the Dyedbro stuff okay to fit ?
Is it a faff?
And did you buy just plain - or with one of the designs ?

Ok, I use a hair dryer and a spray of water
Less so than invisiframe. It's a generic kit though not cut specifically. So will require trimming
Plain for me

Ace ride today and once again showed me that the Slayer isn’t going to be an issue for me. I was out with one of the regular riding mates who’s one of the faster ones compared to me. There’s faster, but they’re proper faster lol. But i’ve ridden with him enough to know where i sit in riding with him.

Bike was spot on, although i’ve not really ridden a decent downhill on it yet with twists and turns, the one decent section we hit today we came upon a pair of dogs/walkers so i had to brake and stop lol. But i’m still more than happy with it 🙂

I had the Fabric seat on today… it was better than the WTB Slayer seat that’s for sure, although i do need to tilt it down just a bit.

I did just order a new rear tyre for coaching this weekend.

Considering it’s an Enduro/AM bike, it has remarkably small clearances on the chainstay gaps on the back end. Both at the top and the bottom. It also seems the Aggressor isn’t the best at clearing the local mud, so i’ve gone for a slightly smaller DHR for the back end, should give it a little more clearance and hopefully work nicer at clearing the mud and stuff.

First real proper ride will be this weekend at FoD for coaching with Katy Curd so i’m looking forward to seeing how it’s setup in terms of suspension, spring rate, handling, it’s been fine and happy for local riding, but FoD should push it a little bit more in terms of tech, cornering etc.

Michelin Mud Enduro. Best mud tyre IMO and 2.25 wide.
