Anyone rode one ??

Can't make my mind up wtf I want tbh. These are coming up no dearer than the 636, but what are they like on the road ?. Yep, possibly too much power, if that's a thing, but I think they look great. I'm wanting a QS, fairing and not too heavy on the wrists. Some say they're pretty comfy.

Looking at 6k to 8k range, so that's mainly MY 15/16 give or take. Also the HRC blade coming up which ticks some boxes.

Fed up with browsing, gonna watch mastermind.

Yep, some silly money being asked. Half the battle is getting the right year. The ergos can vary quite a bit on updated models. It may require a trip to Macclesfield to try for size.

I bought one from Couchy, a 2004 (I think, the very early one). It was freaking awesome. I'm not particularly fast TBF. But I did track it more than any other bike I've had and did two endurance races on it.

I'd have another in a heartbeat*. I'd love to try a newer model* as well cos, well, why not!! LOL



*pretty sure I'll never be able to ride a 'pure sports' bike due to arm positioning, but I'll probably try one day

Ah yes the C model, shorter wheelbase than the same year 6r, proper wheelie machine.

15/16 lovely, fairly good TC. Can drop power with the modes. Handle great, nothing to dislike. I wouldn’t get the blade of that year as I like TC when I’ve got a lot of power as it’s a nice safety/performance aide

I had the first gen,a C1. 2004. I Kept it around 14 years. I'd like to have kept it,but I think I'm kind of a one bike man.

The later models are more stable/less exciting,the first gen was and is the lightest litre sportsbike to date. A hard rear shock made it flighty,but sort that and you have a nimble rocketship. No abs,electronics at all.

I had a 2005 C2. Kept it for 6 years and covered 40 odd thousand miles on it, mainly touring the Pyrenees and the Alps, until I swapped it for a Fireblade.
It was the comfiest bike I've ever ridden. I did several 700 mile days on it. It went like buggery and sounded so lovely, too.
The Fireblade handles way better but is bland by comparison.
I'd have another. (I'm probably too old!)

That's quite a nice looking thing, a bit too pointy for me but still stylish, before everything went all Transformers.

I genuinely thought I'd never sell it. For years on end there was nothing at all to pique my interest. It was a bike which fitted me so well,comfortable and more than fast enough for me.

The basic problem I find with any sportsbike,is I could never go out for a gentle run,that type of bike just needs you to ride in a certain way and even when you're not in the mood the ten eggs you on. I'm 67 now and much as I hate to admit it,I'm not as sharp on a bike as I once was. I wasn't having near misses or anything,but I just knew I was no longer as comfortable with three figures as I used to be.

These days I need a bike that will happily perform according to my mood. The lack of a fairing also helps my pitiful lack of restraint on those days when I'm tempted to act the young fella.

Went to try for size today, superbike factory, Macclesfield. I think the zx10r is off the list, bit too sporty for the road use it will get. Seat felt hard, more forward lean than I want and the motor just won't get stretched enough. I also sat on the 6 and that felt similar, maybe I'm just out of practice.

Fireblades were better but nothing jumping out. There was a cbr650r that looked nice enough. My favourite of the day was maybe a gsxr 750. 15 plate I think. Felt the most comfortable, had a QS, nice can and that is a big problem with second hand sports bikes, exhausts have been replaced with some right shitty things and probably very noisy, but the 750 looked good.

So I got home none the wiser. Maybe back to a nearly new cbr650r for the same money and I'd have a better chance of using all the engine.

Looks like the MotoGP edition. Should have some Yoshi hard parts and that can is standard.

As most know I'm not a sports bike person, much preferring nakeds, but even I love the look of those. Something just right about them. Wratty had a blinder too!

Yeah,Wrat had carbon wheels on his. I wanted them so bad,but the twat wouldn't sell them to me.

I believe he still has his C2.
