We may have to agree to disagree.

Lovely engine but the "styling" is just dreadful.

Mine was (once) the faired version, that was even worse. :geek:

I'd have to agree with Potter here (not something you'll see very often, I grant you). The N1 styling is clean, purposeful and without unnecessary frills. I actually think the original LC pips it, but then I'm biased - I have one.

Yours (with all due respect) is a thrown together lash-up. It may or may not be a better bike to ride, but visually it's a complete mess. Most 'hybrids' are creations that only their mother could love.

Definitely a "you had to be there" thing, it just looks like a generic motorcycle to me. Obviously the engine/exhaust is a give away, but other than that I wouldn't look twice compared to A. N. Other Japanese bike.

For me they've picked the wrong bike to modify in that style.I think that bodywork is more suited to a 4 stroke V Twin or big single.
If I was determined to use a 2 stroke I would have based it on a aircooled twin or triple.
As it is,it reminds me of a homage to a 1960's Greeves
Still at least it's not yet another 1980's two stroke twin restomoded with USD forks, uprated brakes a banana arm & fancy spannies :D

The original 1983/4 YPVS is a thing of beauty, anyone who says otherwise is a tasteless fool

The top bit is lovely - some great metal work. However, as others have said, the bottom part is for too slim, and doesn't match the top.

And that's not a brown seat, that's diarrhea yellow.

One of these days I really ought to finish it off!
All the body work and wheels black, with just the Yamaha emblem on the tank in graphite and it'd be stunning!

Thanks. Always loved the look of the Mito. I knocked this up when I was young and foolish, before I could weld, before I even had a lathe. Come to think of it, I think I did this before I even had a workshop.

Engine runs but I discovered both of the front brake caliper mounting stubs were cracked, so it never got finished. I do have some "good" forks to swap out now tho. The handlebars aren't "fitted" they're just on there to move it around so there's a fair bit of work to get it up to snuff.

I should start thinking about colour though.
