Yeah I agree the plot for Watcher became increasingly implausible. And as for You, too many sideplots and a bit girly, why do I care about all the sodding girly characters relationship issues?, reminded me of sex and the city but with an overtone of serial killer. Weird. Yeah, bailed on it.Taipan wrote: ↑Fri Nov 04, 2022 5:59 pmI was hooked at the start then it just got more and more ridiculous as it went on. And the ending...
Another one we were recommended was You. Sometimes you have to give them the first episode, but I struggled. Got 20 minutes into the second episode and bailed. Too many mini series, box set things at the mo...
I confess to getting into Below Decks - Meditteranean...

I did enjoy her nose curling snarl of "I swear I'll have you in a cage..." in the last episode.KungFooBob wrote: ↑Fri Nov 04, 2022 9:50 pm Does anyone else fancy that hard faced bitch from the ISB on Andor?

I think Andor is by far the best of these Star Wars TV series. Its not just 'splosions and shit.

Started watching 'The English' yesterday. I was a bit put off by some of the over the top reviews (greatest Western ever etc) but it's interesting. Nice cinematography and all a bit dreamlike - but brutal. Body count is quite respectable.

True Grit 2010. Not normally a fan of remakes, but this wasn't a bad effort.

Manifest (on Netflix)
Just don't. Tossers
Pretty ropey acting; really bad incidental music (always a dead giveaway); really inappropriate and cheap looking special effects; a plot so implausible, full of so many holes, with so much potential for literally making it up as you go along, that it's actually quite impressive. If your missus gets hooked you're in it for 4 long series (I've slept through quite a bit of it, doesn't impact the plot what so ever).
I believe zemeckis is involved, which is surprising maybe, given his history. Must be filling up the pension pot.

Re: Box Sets, Mini series, films, etc.
I thought it was good - but doing the sneaky Stranger Things of only releasing 6 episodes of a series that could go on ( & on)
Re: Box Sets, Mini series, films, etc.
I don't normally turn films off once I've started, but that one I had to, it was so bad. It's no Romancing the Stone.
And what's going on with Sandra Bullock, I used to fancy her but now her face is practically frozen solid.
I can't believe that series got 4 seasons. I'm surprised it made it's way to the end of season 1. I know I didn't.DefTrap wrote: ↑Wed Nov 16, 2022 9:10 am Manifest (on Netflix)

Re: Box Sets, Mini series, films, etc.
If you've been watching Stanley Tucci wandering around Italy and gorging himself on local food, then I suggest you watch the last episode, where he meets some female bakers from Sardina, who make traditional flat bread. Looking at the three ladies involved in the making of it, the bread is the only flat thing Stanley gets to inspect close up.

Episode 1 of Wednesday on Netflix. Tim Burton does the Addams Family. Nicely done, hopefully it’ll build.

Last Train to Christmas.
Very weird. I could easily have turned it off in the first hour, but I'm glad I didn't even though I'm not quite sure why?
