What's your record for punctures in a single ride?

Post by Demannu »

Took the dog out for her constitutionals the other day, after dropping down a new track, front felt a bit......squishy. Then it felt flat!
Pumped it up, lasted about 1/2 mile. Repeat til we get home.
Took the tyre off, 7 bloody great thorns in the tyre, 5 had gone through and nicked the tube.
May have to carry a spare tube from now on!

1. Never more than 1.

We've seen 3 failures in the last year with tubeless, all involved teens, jumps amd bent rims. Other than that tubeless, 0

Had they been out doing a spot of the old hedge fauchage? Sometimes the road afterwards is just littered with really spiky hedge trimmings. :(
Doubt is not a pleasant condition.
But certainty is an absurd one

Not down this track! Not wide enough for a tractor

As for, should go tubeless, it's a trek 4800, I've had it for 12 years s/h. A set of t/less wheels would treble the value of the bike

4 or 5 on push bikes on Michelin elans (anyone remember them?)
Never had a blow out puncture on a motorcycle. I've picked up screws and nails but none that have caused immediate deflation.
